Great video. We all experience life differently. This world would be a boring ass place if we were all the same. I love the YTPC for all the knowledge that is shared around a common interest. Nobody is right, and nobody is wrong, as that is all subjective. What may work for one may not work for another after an honest try. And that’s ok. What really matters is finding enjoyment in pipes and tobacco. How you get there is up to you as we’re all on our own journey. Thanks again for the video.

Popped a 5 yr old tin of Opening Night a month ago... I can't imagine it gets better than that. That blend is a fantastic virginia that goes under the radar... with age... It's top tier! Appreciate you, Sir!

I’ve never understood people that talk shit about cellaring tobacco…it’s clear that they haven’t had well aged tobacco! I will dry a blend if it needs it, but I don’t want it crispy! It’s all personal preference though! Great topic, enjoy your weekend bro!

It is my firm belief that one day I will no longer be permitted to purchase pipe tobacco. For this reason I keep a modest cellar of blends I really enjoy. I want to keep on enjoying them for as long as I can.

Like your video. I do consider other people's opinions and advise, but in the end I do what works for me. I have been smoking less than two years. Two of my virginia blends have a year of age and it has greatly improved them for me.

Drying tobacco… well, I guess people know what I think.😂 As for aging tobacco - I’ve never smoked aged tobacco that tastes bad…. Having said that, I smoke good quality tobaccos to start with. 😂 Crap blends won’t improve much I guess. I don’t suffer “experts” on any subject, including pipe smoking, if you know what I mean😅, if I have to do a VR it won’t be as polite as your take on the subject , but can’t be bothered. Enjoy your smokes!

Great video. I've only been a piper just over 2 years, I have no opinion on aged tobacco I've never really had any aged tobacco to compare too. I've had a few blends that were over 3-5 years old.

I believe that navigator I gave you was around 10 years? That would be a good one to compare with a fresh Tin and see the difference.. All tobaccos age differently though. Some for the better and some for the worse

I think he made some good points in his video, as did you. I think it’s a generational thing… the world has changed so much because of technology and people below a certain age simply grew up differently. Stock piling things is nothing new but probably more prevalent now. I do wonder what I’ll do if I quit smoking. Selling tobacco is a hassle if you’re not instagram or Facebook savvy. I’m glad I have a miniature tobacco store in my closet. 💨💨
@JCpNK11 ай бұрын
I’m glad I’m stocked up also.. My main point was some people always use the whole “my grandfather did it this way” blanket statement but they also used lead and asbestos in everything and that shit kills you lol

For me, it’s more about the enjoyment of collecting different tobacco’s. Aging can help mellow out a Virginia forward blend, but in general I try to hold onto stuff that may not be around long. Plus I keep a fair amount saved for when this Gestapo government says “no more tobacco products” which is likely coming.
@JCpNK11 ай бұрын
Agree with that 100% 👍

Your title got me kinda worried there. I've got some 1998 blackwoods I haven't opened yet and I was worried you'd say it didn't age well.
@JCpNK7 ай бұрын
Wow! I would say a lot of the McClelland Virginias I’ve had with 10+ years of age have done well.. Tudor Castle was probably the oldest and it was bitey when I first smoked it years ago but after having it well aged it was fine and the sweetness was still there
@GarethHampton11 ай бұрын
Hopefully the tobaccos in my cellar age decently well... because it's going to take me a good number of years to smoke through them all! (I've even cellared multiple tins of a few blends that I still haven't tied yet, just because I'm pretty sure that I'm going to like them) 🤦♂
@JCpNK11 ай бұрын
Most tobaccos get better with some age.. Heck I have some tins that are 10 years old that I haven’t tried yet lol

All great points! Only rule I follow is smoking and stocking how I like. Don't really get the folks that try to tell us how we "should" or "should not" do something. I just share what I do, but certainly do not expect anyone else to do the same or have to agree with it. The aged stuff I have tried seemed "muted" a bit compared to the fresh out of the tin flavor. I maintain stock in case the EU goes "full retard" and eliminates tobacco sales. Totally agree - you got to do what you like the way you like to do it. Like you said, just because we do something different ways, don't make either one of us wrong.

I don't think there is one hard and fast rule on aging tobacco. I have smoked tobacco from the 30's that was divine and stuff that was 6 months old which was garbage. It all depends. I cellar tobacco not necessarily for the aging of it...but because there is a likelihood we may not be able to get anymore. :) I also just enjoy the "hobby" of buying tobacco! LMAO!
