You’re a great man for being able to see him live! I’m in Australia and never got to see Jeru. Went to a few Gangstarr shows and mate, every time I went dudes nearly tore down the building it was madness! Some of the best times of my life!

I saw him with The Beatnuts and Large Professor, great show. Jeru literally did like 3 songs and then spent 30 minutes cracking jokes, he had the crowd in tears. Not sure if that’s something he does as standard but it was not what I expected. I enjoyed it though, he’s a funny dude for real

Most rappers today are exactly doing everything that Jeru was speaking about what former wack MCs did from the past. This track from the Damaja is still relevant.

I was 15 when this dropped and we used to rock this jam so early. When dudes played themselves we used to spit the hook of this track to them....with all that big willy talk ya playin yaself.... This whole album is fire chock full of knowledge. 5 stars. A hip hop classic.

The Damaja himself...this joint and his other hits "The prophet" and "Come Clean" were my joints back in the days, man I miss the golden era of hip hop, so much diversity in the game ! This brother was way ahead of his time with his messages. I would have loved to see him and Laruen Hill do a collaboration. L Bougie's joint "That Thing" and this joint were on the same frequency ! Hip hop was our last attempt at social and financial freedom . How did we lose control of our own craft? This is a pure classic. The music and the video combined is genius, yet emcees like Jeru will not be given just due. We don't honor our artists when it's time and that has to change.
