My first gouache tutorial! I've been using gouache for just over a month now, and i'm finally starting to get the hang of it. I'm so excited to share what I've learnt and I hope this bit of knowledge will be helpful to you.

➫ winsor and newton gouache: permanent yellow deep, primary yellow, spectrum red, primary red, ultramarine, permanent green, black: amzn.to/37UkByp (US)
➫ art spectrum gouache: white and phthalo blue
➫ brushes: flat brush, round brush (silver black velvet 3000s, size 4 & 8), liner brush
➫ spray bottle (for misting paints on the palette to keep it fresh)
➫ kneadable eraser (optional)

I just started playing around with gouache... I am having a hard time getting it on the roght consistency since i am more used to with watercolor... But watching your video mkes me want to perfect gouache more.. 👌🏻

Ive watched many painting tutorials but none makes me come back and actually follow the video and paint the way yours do. The soothing voice and the peaceful sceneries you paint, not to mention how clean the space is. Just incredible. I'm a huge fan and your videos really calm me down

Very nice! I'm a retired Art teacher but I've never worked in gouache. I was gifted a Windsor Newton set for Christmas, and now I can't wait to get started! I am skeptical about the use of black, though. It was my habit to remove any black paint media from the reach of the students.

Beautifully explained. Thank you for sharing your progress. This makes me hopeful. I've never used gouache before recently. I bought Reeves and made a palette out of it. DOH! Of course it dried and trying to reactivate it in a useful way is quite difficult. I will certainly have to learn about purchasing a more user friendly beginner gouache. Maybe those Himi Miya jelly cups or maybe Daler and Rowney tubes, Idk. But I look forward to practicing this tutorial in my spare time.

Oh I’ve never tried to make a palette out of mines because I prefer it fresh from the tube! I think maybe miya himi jelly gouache is more suited to that, would love to know how you go with it :) hope you get the chance to give this one a go!

I live in a rural area up in the mountains. And there is a volcano off in the distance. And when we drive out the mountains, we can see the volcano. It looks like this when the sunrise hits it in the morning.

Dont be afraid! Gouache is much easier than Aquarelle or Oil. It combines the best sides of both. Have a nice day

I'm impressed with how much youre able to blend when I add any paint to the surface it usually dries immediantly and I can't blend anything. Do you keep the paint really fluid in order for it to stay wet on the surface thanks for the informative vid :)

i have a decent amount of paint on my brush so when i apply it to the paper there is lots of paint for me to move around and blend with. i find that if the paint is really thinned out with water then it dries really quickly and i can't blend much. hope that helps! :)

This is absolutely amazing and mesmerizing 🙃 just a suggestion, it would be really great if you could just try to place the subtitles somewhere else on the screen beacuse it just kinda block the view while you are painting. Thankyou for this tutorial 😊

good point! i'm not sure if i can actually move the positioning of the subtitles, although I will try and put my own subtitles so that it only takes up one line instead of two with the auto subtitles.
