Matt cuts as much weight as he does because he does what's best for the team I think he has grown out of that125 pound weight class, I'm a huge fan of his but I just don't see him in the finals of the NCA's most likely it'll be Delgado vs Nico or Waters but McD is from Iowa and you never doubt an Iowa guy

Some wrestlers don't cut at all, some cut around 5, some around 10, but McDonough cuts around 20 pounds whenever he has to compete and most of the tournaments are 3 day tourneys so he can barely eat for that whole eat and has to cut every day

MCD was sucking too much weight. He looks so exhausted through the whole match. That being said Delgado was a HORRIBLE match up for Mcd, Matt likes to use his long arms to get in on a leg and enjoys getting caught underneath the hips and uses his strength and leverage to suck the leg in. Delgado was too good of a scrambler for Matt to get ANYTHING!

Delgado did an Iranian clinic in that match. He did that move at least a few times for points.

McDonough’s thumb looks to have been bothering him the entire match. He avoids posting or putting any kind of pressure on the hand with the thumb. Obviously just an observation, but maybe the score could have been closer if Matt had both good hands.
