The tip about getting your fingers as wide on the ball as you can and making sure your flicking your wrist just elevated me. I've been playing for years but I always played post so there was no need for me to dribble. Now I'm playing guard and I need this skill. Thanks coach!
@mprosiles
@mprosiles 3 жыл бұрын
1. Bend the Wrists, increase ball in hand time 2. Keep hands close on crossovers (again, maximizing ball in hand time) 3. Hip Mobility, allows you to get lower, can practice with touching the ground on crossovers 4. Getting a good grip, palm ok, finger ends touching ball (from other vid, incorporating dribbling and passing to suicide drills)

Sandi Richard I think that’s a mistake you have to try what u been learning in games but practice more than u play and keep adding things to your game but u will choke and won’t know how to implement it and most likly u won’t be successful on learning how to implement what u learned in a game so in a way that’s practice too you do what you want but I’m tryna help and if your super serious play against good competition good luck to you

3:00 my Biggest problem for years and I could never figure out why all my dribbling training never paid off. I had weak hips the whole time and the worst part about it is I’m a runner too. Good thing though. That means I have a LOT of room for improvement 🥳 Easy dribbling to wherever I want on the court has my name on it. I guarantee that.

For years I wasn't really into basketball, I was just a catch-and-shoot 3 and D type of player because I was a shitty ball handler and the only reason I was in teams in the first place was because I was a good shooter and defender, but now that I'm more into the game, I've been working on my dribbling skills and even play making.

Lmao i was a check to all of this 3 years ago, i used to play like klay thompson, just defending and spot up shots, but when i watched your kyrie irving crossover vids, i looked foolish on the court and the bigger kids kept on picking on me and say that im like a pickle, so i trained day and night, i asked my dad to play with me every morning before school, now im 13 and i found my old videos when my dad filmed our games, goddddddd! coach of 30+ years here with a quick fundamentals question... I've always emphasized with feeder program kids to avoid dribbling the ball between their feet on crossovers but to instead pull the ball back hip-to-hip for greater ball protection. Does your "keep your hands close enough to almost clap on a crossover" teaching point contradict that? Thanks in advance!
@GetHandles

It can still be done in that way with it being "close to a clap" but may require players to be more flexible.

I’d say get better at stationary dribbling first. Then those learned skills should transfer over. After you’re decent while standing still then start doing some back and forth or up and down the court drills. That’s what I’m about to start doing.
