Were you worried about hitting the overhanging rock near the bottom of the slide, or does it look lower in the video than it really is? I had this spot in the maybe-pile when I went to TN a few years ago, but it didn't make my final itinerary. Now I might have to go back and check it out.

I was not worried about hitting anything. I checked the pool first and found the best line on the slide to avoid any possible issues. You definitely should hit this one!! We're actually in NC right now trying to figure what to do for the next couple days. Looking at Bearwallow Creek, stuff around Linville Gorge, West Fork French Broad, maybe going above Turtleback Falls... any recommendations ?

@@JesseStLouis Haven't been to Bearwallow, and above Turtleback is private property (but there's reportedly a good one called Sidepocket Falls a mile or two downstream, which I've yet to check out). I definitely recommend Paradise Falls if you didn't make it there last time, but it's very popular, so a weekday would be your best bet. If you go to Linville, a good first hike would be the Babel Tower Trail (great views, decent swimming hole). Be careful about swimming in the Linville River if the flow is above 100cfs, though. A creek walk to Steels Creek Falls near Linville Gorge is also a fun one if you want something more along the lines of what you did in this video.

@@flyminion thanks for the suggestions. I had been looking at Steeles Creek for a canyoneering run from the top. Weather looks not so good for at least tomorrow. I appreciate your input 🙌🤙

@@JesseStLouis Yeah, it's kind of hard to plan Appalachian excursions in advance because of all the thunderstorms we have here. That's why I like to get out to California in the summer 😁

Middle Creek is off suck creek Road. You’ll see concrete road barriers on the right as you come from Chattanooga. It’s a scramble to get there. Go with at least one other healthy adult.
