As a new mom, you are the only one who i noticed talked about postpartum.. and even tho Keke looks good on the outside and she's glowing after the baby.. i can relate to the inner struggle to keep up with society's pressure and expectation to bounce back.. she was just having a good time and that man made a spectacle of her private life.

Hey Sistah, as a gay male Jess was 100% correct only biological women can have periods and give birth. The problem was instead of talking to the trans women who made the video or those who think like her, she attacked the whole trans community calling them delusional and mentally Ill and said they needed straight jackets. the conversation about reproductive organs and periods in relation to the trans community is a tough one. as a woman who heavily identifies as liberal and is a lesbian who went to an all girls liberal arts school i find it hard to voice my thoughts without seeming like i’m against the trans community. i’m all for people being who they are through and though. but i feel like as a woman i feel like i’m losing space ? like when it comes to period i remember being young and so embarrassed and scared of the natural things that happened to my body as a woman. then once i was older it was empowering to know all my body can do. the trans community has been pushing for feminine products to stop using the pronouns she/her and be replaced with they/them and while i see their perspective it does sadden me a bit. it took me so long to love that part of feminity and now it’s going to be reduced to they them like so many other things tied to female culture.

I love the correlation you made with the Tommy Lee comments and Keke Palmer because it goes deeper than “what she was wearing” it’s the insecurity of feeling like you’re losing control over your partner and now that her body is more mature and she has more confidence it’s intimidating, and now that it’s a new dynamic men lack the emotional competence to communicate their feelings because they don’t want to look like a “bitch”.

You are spot on today. When the Ke-Ke issue was going down my friends and I had a debate with one of my friends boyfriend. His thought was Ke-Ke should not have worn the dress if her “man” did not like it. Both myself and my friend who is a newer mom commented on how good it was to see Ke-Ke enjoying herself and her new mom body, because as new moms, we don’t feel good about ourselves right after having a baby and how real postpartum is. The whole table including the men had to let this man know that Ke-Ke’s partner is insecure.

My bestie is of the Caucasian persuasion, and when I filled her in on the story (which she somehow didn’t hear about) and I told her the details of the wig being left behind, even she said “that doesn’t seem right, a black woman left her wig behind??” 😂😂😂

I’m sorry Jessie. No uterus, no period, no babies. Those come with biological females with xx chromosomes. When a patient comes to me for an ultrasound the only genitalia is female or male, when they check the chromosomes, it is either xx (female) or xy (male) .. unless there is a chromosomal abnormality in my 30 years in diagnostic imaging … only twice I have documented ambiguous genitalia and have documented a scrotum with a penis or labia … I don’t think it is ridiculous, this a real issue. Whatever changes happen when a person comes out of the womb is another issue. A man male to female transition can not experience a human uterus, monthly menstrual cycles or birth babies. This person is not a biological female.

As a new mom to a 14 month old I can confirm everything you have said regarding keel possibly going through ppd is very likely and true. I have been stuck in mine since giving birth and no idea how to get out of it. I no longer feel like myself or no who I am. My baby has undiagnosed food allergies and no doctor will confirm and just passes us off to the next specialist so he is in constant pain and can’t sleep and this has added such a strain to all of us and you are just very very correct. Postpartum is no joke and nothing can prepare you for it. Next baby if I have another I will have a postpartum doula and therapy on standby and a support system

I agree that the trans v cis beef is not the issue we should be focusing on. But the issue with what was said about gatekeeping periods and womanhood is different, I feel. And I felt this more so during my pregnancy. There are so many women who are hurting because they can not experience pregnancy naturally, but were born with all the "right" parts and had "normal" periods. And how to deal with expressing your joy while trying not to upset someone else for what they felt was another failure on their part is something "natural born" women face every day. So, not even bringing in trans women into the conversation (because I know how people are), there are women who have had abnormal periods since puberty. There are women who can not have children. There are women who get pregnant but can not carry a pregnancy to term. But should that determine their womanhood? If you gatekeep periods and the ability to reproduce or the amount of estrogen, then a lot of "natural" born women don't fit that bill even though they have a uterus or have had a period.

I myself have experienced some high highs and some low lows these past 10 months with my husband since having our baby and that adjustment period is real, but the strength of your relationship is really tested in the first few months of having a baby
