I find out today, décembre 2023 ,that Madame Jessie Norman left us in 2019. I was Lucy to hear and see her 3 times. She was fluent in French ,German ,and Italian.This Supra Intelligent Lady enlightened my Christmas Eves since childhood. This next Christmas eve ,she will be in my heart ❤

At 81, I thought I had seen and heard every rendition of Ave Maria, and here I happen on Ms. Jessye Norman singing such a beautiful interpretation of the most beautiful song ever composed and now, I can say, I heard them all. Bravo, Ms. Norman.

I’ll never forget this woman’s performance at the Atlanta Olympics. Even someone who is not into opera, could be captivated by this woman’s voice. I used to work for the phone company, and was lucky to have her as one of my customers. She was just as gracious and beautiful speaking to me over the phone.

OMG, her voice is so gentle like velvet. She spreads peace, calm...the face expresion is inviting to listen, like saying hey I am singing for each and everyone of you. I just discovered her, she left a legacy of her beautiful voice . Rest in peace , beautiful lady.

When I was first introduced to opera I listened to Beverly Sills, Renee Fleming and Leontyne Price. Then I heard Jessye Norman. The layers in her voice and her perfect diction of every language...God knew what he was doing when he created this gift for us. RIP dear lady.

This is for the first time I am listening to this GREAT and WONDERFUL voice, harmonious sounds, velvety and full of emotion. Amazing technique, as well. I am so impressed and happy that I discovered this magnificent operatic singer, even if she passed away. I will make sure I'll listen to other arias interpreted by her. It brings me to copious tears for its sheer Perfection & Beauty ...this Voice of an Angel, Jessye Norman!! Her expressions, legato, tremolo, etc. were ...otherworldly ...Heavenly ...impossibly beautiful for this lowly earthly plane of existence ...She exalted the very s~p~a~c~e around her into Ethereal Perfection! ...She lifted you to another plane ...a Heavenly plane ...and helped the faltering soul believe in Eternity!!! P.s. ...I listened again ...and cried again & changed my mind ...Jessye's voice was not "near perfection"... She was PERFECTION!!!

I'm always brought to tears when I listen to her sing. Always! What a deeply tragic loss 😢. The Portrait-When I Am Laid In Earth (Purcell) is extremely powerful if anyone wants to give it a listen (you'll want to thank me later 👍🎵). Yes! God's gift to humanity!! I wonder if she ever sang in a cathedral like Notre Dame (translation "Our Lady"). She deserved such a setting like a diamond in its most finely wrought gold setting!! In fact with that diamond sparkle of near perfection, emotion, passion, yet softest gentlest tenderness... her voice was liquid GOLD!!!

She is with God. And, my friends, we must always pray for those who do not have hearts warmly beating like moments such as this. Never get distracted by those who are unkind but, rather plant seeds of love in their hearts. Eventually, some of those seeds may take root and that person will see things very differently from that moment on.
