I really wish the NHL, the best hockey league in the world, could even come close to the fans of a swedish 2nd division team. These are real fans, the atmosphere is insane! It really brings so much more life and meaning to it. Hockey is not just something you watch, it's something you experience, and when everyone in the crowd is an ultra you just can't help but feel as a part of it. Almost like a cult. I'm from Finland and immediately became a fan of Djurgården when watching this video, they do it right! Fittigt fina fanns ni har dit. Exakt så ska hockey vara. Ta hem dethär, ett gäng som ni förtjänar spela på högsta nivå i Sverige. ♥️💙💛 Hälsningar, ett mumin från Finland.

You have a bar in each corner of Hovet that serves the beer you are looking for. 1 bar is season ticket holders only during intermission and 1 bar is normally closed off so only away fans can access that bar. Which were where you were sitting last game. If you end up on the same side again you have to walk to the other side of the Arena.

Sundin didn't just return during the lockout, he was drafted from Djurgården in the first place, where he played for the youth and junior division and then later for the pro squad while still underaged. 2. The Hovet arena will be demolished and The Globe aka Avicii Arena is under renovation and will be their new home arena. Hovet is more popular for hockey because the ice is better (colder in the arena) and the ceiling is lower, which creates a better atmosphere. But when the Globe is renovated, the ceiling inside will be able to be lowered. And I hope they will fix the ice problems that been there.

@@JetLagWarriorsUse the bars outside the stadium. They absolutely sell real beer. Blues bar for example should be good. I think there will also be a big gathering at Slaktbaren before the football. And if you haven’t already, check out the merchandise shop in the mall next to both hockey and football stadiums. If you do go before the football BE EARLY because it will be jam packed. So my advice is to get to stadium area a couple of hours before kick off and enjoy the atmosphere at bars and restaurants. I grew up a fan because my parents was fans and also my grandparents. My late grandad watched the club back in the 20s and 30s. The football section of our great club was formed in 1899 and the hockey in 1922. We’ve had the same club badge since the early 1900s. As for the ice that continues outside the rink... Johanneshov, like all old hockey-arenas in Europe was built with measurements for a standard European rink, which are 60x30 meters (length x width). However, more and more top teams and leagues in Europe has started to play on NHL-size rinks, which are 60,96x25,9 meters. Which is why you could see the ice surface outside the actual rink at Johanneshov.

Nice that the purce was still there. We went to see eurohockey tour game Finland-Canada in Globen around 2009-2011,dont remember the year exatly. We boozed all night at ferry from helsinki,had massive hangover in stockholm at morning. Buses were waiting for us at port to take us to globen. My bus was full of fans drunk as hell,they immediatly noticed that i was struggling with severe hangover and they all wanted to help ofcource. I had beer,mintliquer,vodka,vine and more vodka onthe way. Needless to say i started to feel ill (20 minute journey) and vomitted in a plastic bag that was professionally handed over just in time! And Voila,bus doors open,i step out and see 30 police officers in front of me saying All BAGS HERE RIGHT NOW,NO EXCEPTIONS!!!! I ofcource gave my bag right of way, the cop openened the bag full of puke and i said "just keep it,i got plenty". No problems with the cop,she just put it aside and said "NEXT". Finland won the game something like 6-1.

Mats Sundin was amazing. We hate him in Finland. 1992 and 1998 WC finals and 2006 Winter Olympics final all still hurt. Edit: I think Sweden has the same gambling laws as Finland, where the only company that is allowed to market and provide gambling service is a state-owned company (Svenska Spel). That in reality is circumvented with companies that are in EU and not technically marketing gambling towards Swedes (or Finns), but they do weirdly (😉) have their website in Swedish. The thought is that if gambling needs to be a thing, then at least the profits would go to the state. But that also creates incentives for the state-owned company to provide more and more gambling to the public.

If hockeyallsvenskan finals is between Brynäs-Djurgården you have to go if you can. They are the two teams with most golds won through swedish hockey history. Especially a Brynäs home game so the support is more even and the stands are besides eachother.

yeah the beer is 3.5% because higher % + sports = increase in fighting looking back at earlier games and supporter on supporter violence. Usually you pregame the match and have a light beer for the taste and just something to drink. better athmosphere for every type of fan.

One of the things I love with hockey in Sweden is the fan culture. I used to stand in the home section (no seats there would just get in the way) and sing, dance and cheer for my team HV71. It was a while ago now though but still enjoy going to the games when I have a chance and we barely managed to stay in the to league after an abysmal season... again. But hey, once you have chosen a team it is your team for life, what ever division it is in. That's my mentality.

No, the beer can be stronger, you only have to have a special permit to sell stronger beer (it's a bit strange that a hockey arena doesn't have such a permit), in stores, only the government-owned system company is allowed to sell stronger beer.
@_Wolfsbane_
@_Wolfsbane_ Ай бұрын
You get stronger beer at the state liquour stores. If the venue has the proper permit you get them at the place as well. And yes, it's second division - almost entirely made up of former top division teams. And "Hovet" is the smaller, older, arena in Stockholm.

About the beer only being 3.5% alcohol, even the one you buy in grocery stores. Yep, we have something called Systembolaget where you can get stronger beer. Systembolaget is sort of like government run liquor stores and they have monopoly of selling alcohol stronger than 3.5%, but there you can get beer that's 10.2% if you want to. As why it's only 3.5% in the arena kiosks, that's something they have because they don't want people to get too drunk and rowdy (which happens anyway at times, actually). Although Hovet does have like 4 proper bars inside, where you can get stronger beer, one in each corner of the arena. Definitely something to keep in mind for next time you visit. FORZA DJURGÅRDEN! 💛❤💙 EDIT: Forgot to mention, you can absolutely bring your 3.5% beer into the stands, but you can't bring the stronger beer out from any of the bars. 👍
