Skaii is a student at Walter Johnson HS in MCPS. She is a Marxist activist and do public speaking, rallying, and demonstrations for Palestine.
Zachary Foster has a Ph.D in Near Eastern Studies from Princeton University. He is a Fellow at the Rutgers Center for Security, Race and Rights. He runs a digital archive called Palestine Nexus and writes a newsletter called Palestine, in Your Inbox. He is a Jewish American historian of Palestine who was a zionist until he started studying Palestine. Zachary talks about how he saw through the propaganda, the dehumanization of Palestinians, how Israel uses starvation as a weapon of war, the history of Hamas and zionism's antisemitism. Zachary explains why Israel doesn't just harm Palestinians but Jews.

Personally I didn’t find it weird being the mom of a young teen who hates when I refer to her as a child 😩so I call her a young lady. I thought this was a compliment to her level of intelligence. Many her age like my son for example of immersed in video games and social media.

@@raistlin3462 Hebrew is a dialect of Canaanite languages - " The language was not referred to by the name Hebrew in the Bible but as Yehudit (Judean) or as Sapat Kana'an the language of Canaan" Hebrew language - Wikipedia. But Yehuda or Yahuda is also an Arabic and Muslim name and means praised. Hebrew root Eber/Abar is cognate with Arab root Abara/Abari and means being on the move, nomadic, crossing to the other side

I've read that Hebrew, or Israelite origins can't be proved or disproved - there are different models regarding their appearance in Canaan. Maybe some questions that should be asked are; *if people lived in Canaan before Israelites, why does only one group in the present, who claim to be the latter's descendants get to make exclusive claims ? *if the Israelites own origin story is true, does that not mean their outsiders, from Mesopotamia ? *how come Lebanese and Egyptians are accepted as being descendants of pre-Islamic and pre-Christian populations, but not Palestinians ? *how does Ben-Gurion acknowledging Palestinians having ancient Hebrew ancestors, which is backed up with genetics, fit in with the assertion some other Zionists make of "Arab invaders" ? *if Canaan and Palestine describe a geographic area, but Israel a tribe/ethno-religious group, is calling the land 'Israel' therefore not narrow and exclusive, rather than open and inclusive like the former names ? Thats an interesting topic in itself. Scholars can't prove or disprove Hebrew, or Israelite origins, and several models exist regarding this. There are little in way of references to Israel in west Asian and Egyptian sources. According to the Israelites own narrative, they, or at least their major patriarch, come from Ur. Perhaps some questions that could be asked are along the lines of the following; *why is only one group in the present able to claim exclusive rights over Israel-Palestine, when it was populated prior to the arrival of Israelites ? *how come people accept that modern day Lebanese and Egyptians are descendants of pre-Islamic and pre-Christian people, but not Palestinians ? *Ben-Gurion rightly noted that Palestinians are descendants of ancient Hebrews, something that has been backed up by genetics. How does that fit in with the claim of some Zionists about Palestinians just being "Arab invaders" ? *if Canaan and Palestine describe a geographic area, and Israel a tribe/ethnicity, does that not mean the former is more broad and inclusive while the latter is narrow and exclusive ?

Skaii is so good that I watched her a number of times. As an old man of 78 I hope she will find an appropriate university to cultivate her intellect. 40-50 years ago I would have suggested she go to Italy which had both the best philospohical thought and the political economic one. Not anymore. Learning mathematics also helps since without mathematics marxian political economy becomes problematic.

Imagine going to school in 1941-1945 and being an activist to spread awareness of the Holocaust and Nazism, and then being told by staff that mentioning Nazism or Auschwitz is insulting to the students of German heritage. That is the historical equivalent of what they are doing to this young girl, who has more knowledge and heart than her entire school combined.

I studied International Relations 45 yrs ago, and what I learnt made me hate politics because because I could see no way out of what was coming. I just got on with my life and 4 kids Elections in America got my attention. Lockdown, and not a lot to do but follow world affaires. I had been aware of what happened in Palastine I was born in 1941, before TV was available. We went to the pictures every week and we saw newsreels, that was the first time I remember film from Palestine. Netanyahu caught my attention when at a UN trade meeting in India, a couple of years ago he gave a presentation about his intention to build a new road and rail route from India across sea, by land up the Arabian Peninsular through Israel to the Medterainian., he drew the route on a map. Last year he gave the same presentation at the UN meeting, better maps. He also talked of the canal. A long time dream of Israeli governments . My thought was "Gaza is in the way," he was running around talking to Arab states, this alerted my attention. So I watched closely, what was going on in Israel. Troops were moved north. There was an outbreak by Hamas in to a vulnerable area. Netanyahu said the inteligence service's failed 😂 Egypt said they had warned him 2 days before the event he denied the fact. My common sence told me he had allowed this to happen because it played into his hands, serving his plans. 2 weeks into the war he was signing a contract with BP oil. That was arranged by the father in law of our PM Rishi Sunak, to further plunder, the Levant Basin. Sunak's wife is estimated to have made £ 30 million. 2 months later Sunak gave licences to Shell to work the North Sea oil fields. Shell is also a client The same firm who organised that signe up with Netanyahu. I presume you know the history of the oil fields off the coat of Palastine and that the Israeli government ignors any decision made by the UN. This is down to my observations not to any conspiracy.

Skaii is a very intelligent, informed and strong. I personally don’t align with the Marxist ideology, but I respect the opinions of everyone. Especially people like her that are able to look at objective data and make an informed decision on their own. Many people in my generation voted in the party lines our parents told us to. I watched the debate Shmuley/Finkelstein, to see that shmuley kept using the word Germans instead of Nazis to describe the horrors committed, it begs the following question ? If any debater linked the word atrocities to the word Jews wouldn’t he immediately labelled an antisemitic?

The fact that America supports this after their history with the Native American and Black people negates any regret expressed to those populations for their treatment. You would think if America was truly regretful and learned from their past transgressions something like this would not even be tolerated.

Zack reminds me of a young Gabor Mate. Zacks life experience is so similar to Gabor. Imagine where we would be today if Gabor Mate was given the same platform that Zack has when he was in his 20’s. Palestine would be a different country today.
