Only thing missing from American Truck Simulator is a Cracker Barrell every 100 miles or so

As a native Kansan, I am impressed with the visuals of Kansas in this simulation. Looks very good.

So happy to see SCS' continued development of this game. According to Steam, since I got this game (as Arizona was released) I've accumulated over 8,700 hrs. of playtime. It's the only game I've dedicated so much time to...and I'm looking forward to the upcoming states.

I'm so excited to get Kansas. While some people might not be as excited for it, I'm quite the opposite. Sure, the mountain states were fun when we were getting them, but I'm a bit tired of them now and I'm welcoming the plains states with open arms. It is gonna be good.

I love ATS I used to play it on my gaming laptop, I used keyboard and mouse but still enjoyed it. I want a Firefighting Truck Simulation game. Maybe I could make one on Unreal Engine. Thanks for this Jeff. God bless from Tasmania 🙏

finally got home and was able to sit down and watch this. so so cool, literally made this drive today. goodland exit 17 all the way to KC, with a stop in my hometown of hays of course to see pops. some things about hays in the game. the roundabouts being put in hays were a very heated discussion in town for a long time and the majority of residents really didn't want them, but the town got a grant or something from either the fed or the state and rather than lose it they had to do something with it and we got 4 roundabouts back to back with the "peanut" in the middle. the pharmacy at 27th and vine is a walgreens as you pointed out. where you dropped the first load would have actually been a much smaller building and probably an oil lease company or maybe the old furniture store. where you picked up from would be another oil company called Hess services they make oilfield equip. worst part of the roundabout thing is just what you found out....if you are going S and need to go E or are going N and need to go W you have to do the whole loop. the building on the left, right as you get back onto 70 is the home depot instead of the walmart, the museum is called Sternberg Museum of Natural History and is know for the 'fish within a fish' fossil that was found around the area. Kansas was underwater a long time ago, so now you can find fossils of fish and even some sharks teeth if you know where to look. thank you for showing off my state. kind of surpised how condensed it really was. turns a 6 hour drive into less than an hour. I also have a ton of family in missouri so I'm also looking forward to that coming out.

This is what I've been waiting for! And I'm a Kansas resident. Salina. We had a good Thanksgiving here, I am glad yours went well too Jeff. As you drove through Salina, I seen that they included the United Building and one other I couldn't make out. Everything around the Ninth St exit was exactly how you would have seen it exiting there. That's awesome! They could have included the Ohio St exit as well with the Flying J and Kenworth dealership. Topeka was pretty legit, I didn't see the Capital building though that you could see from the highway.

Can't wait to watch this. In goodland right now with almost zero service so gonna have to wait till i get home to actually watch this.

I live in Kansas, and it's extremely cool seeing it through this game. And yes, they compressed the state down by A LOT in this game. In real life Kansas is HUGE. It takes roughly 6 hours to drive from end to the other, depending on the route you take. I live in Hutchinson, but have also lived in Manhattan, Dodge City, Wichita and Newton. I've been all over the state more times than I can count. I'm not from Kansas, but I spent a decent amount of time here. I would love to see someone drive around Hutchinson in this game just to see how close they made it look to the actual city.

Im with you on this Jeff. Im very excited for Kansas as well, as it means we are closer to Missouri. My family is from the KCMO side, and its surrounding areas, and I have fond memories of every summer taking a roadtrip from South Carolina all the way to KC to visit, so seeing the flat plains and such is pleasing to see. Feels so familiar

Aight first off awesome job showcasing Kansas... The interchange at Topeka was depicted really good. The building in Junction City is a kdot center for the highway crew. But other than that they did a good job highlighting Kansas. Awesome video Jeff. And yes I am a current resident in Kansas.

I’ve done the drive from KC to Denver multiple times on I-70 so this is so cool to see it so realistically depicted in ATS! Been waiting for Kansas DLC since ATS came out in 2016.

You're right, I've been running vanilla ATS and honestly visually the base game alone is looking fantastic at this point even without mods.

Hello jeff , i been playing Ats v1.49 loving the update great new skyboxes , fog without rain, new lightning , rain really good , performance of update is great , Ats is great loving the immersion been playing this game since v 1.37 ,scs just keeps getting better with Ats and Ets 2 , loving your videos

I live in Junction city, I happy to see Kansas DLC on the Map, and the map looks very close to Kansas kinda wish it was map was more realistic ratio on the state like when you went from Salina to junction city to Topeka KS in matter of mins lol I was like damn I only wish because I travel through out Kansas a lot. Anyways thanks Jeff for the Tour and video! : )

I live in Hutchinson! This was so cool to see. We Kansans hardly get a mention these days 😂 I’ve memorized a lot of these places, almost Jeff’s exact route backwards on the drive to Colorado.

I live in Lawrence ks about 20ish minutes away from Topeka. I have made the trip across Kansas heading to Colorado and it is the most boring counting cows and oil derricks for about 8.5 hours than BAM mountains. Update: I just had a chance to finish the video and yes its spot on with how the layout and the highways are. When you got off on Kansas Ave I lived not to far from there and that plant is right where it was on here. Super cool.

Hey Jeff I've driven through Kansas when I headed down to Texas and even this compressed map it looks amazing. I really like how SCS made truck repairs more realistic where we can finally pick and choose what is the priority. The internal cabin sounds are really impressive and with good headphones they add to that immersion. I also read they added dat moon (with proper phases and reflections) to the night sky and the stars now twinkle. Oh and we now can buy used trucks! That's long over due let me tell you, and will really help new players. Nebraska is next and that's where my brother and his wife live. For me that will be another one to see how well SCS has done (hope they include his little town). My home state (MN) probably won't be out for 3 years sadly.

Drove I70 across Kansas today and, thankfully, no hiccups, skips or lag spikes!

When I was trucking I always loved the big areas to back in

I live pretty close to Garden City so it was pretty exciting to see all the towns near me they even did a little bit of Liberal which was pretty cool maybe one day they will add even more towns and details to the map.

I take that interchange in Topeka everyday for work it is very well modeled

I can't wait for the Kansas. The little freezes happen to me as well i'm not sure what is happening . I don't run any mods everything is by default. I did have a odd experience today while driving from Wyoming to Denver.. I was driving through a thunderstorm and it was sunny and there wasn't any clouds at all in the sky very odd. Anyways great video love all the content you put out.

Living in the UK and playing ETS2 a lot of these great plains states remind me of the Iberia DLC with its high plateau. I've always preferred the more mountainous states in the west for the scenery. Closest to these flat states in the UK would be the East of England, places like Lincolnshire, the Fens and East Anglia. Only thing I really know about Kansas is The Wizard of Oz and I managed to stumble across a sign for the Wizard of Oz collection as you drive through Liberal in the south as you head toward Guymon in Oklahoma.

I live in Winfield, just 40 minutes south of Wichita, and this is crazy accurate, the freeway, the towns, everything but the traffic density is very accurate

This may sound silly but aside from the new weather effects, I love that they finally added automatic headlights and high-beams. No more worries about getting dinged for not having my headlights on when I should have!

SCS Software is doing better and better. I wish all the trucks had engine fan sounds. Also, a snow bar (that adds snow on the roads/ground) like the rain bar in settings. I wish they would add more trucks in the truck stop parking spaces. I'm thinking you can turn off or adjust the gear grinding somewhere under settings.

The hotel at 0:03 was the hotel I stayed at in Garden City when I flew freight in and out of there. So cool

The business when you were heading out of hays was a home depot and the dome was the sterburg museum

Lived in Wichita for almost 10 years, I love that state. Also, just FYI, it isn't really an "Automatic" transmission, it is an "Auto-Stick". It shifts gears just like the manuals do, just the computer shifts them and far more efficiently than most people could.

Live in Colby and it was accurate as you went through.

I haven't been this excited about game updates since I was a kid. I can't go over the road anymore, due to my marriage and can't travel due to all the animals we have. The western half was my favorite part of the states to truck in. The people are great and the landscape is beautiful. I can't wait for Missouri either.

I wish the drive from manhattan ks/junction city to Topeka was that quick! Map looks nice though, it was nice seeing how they modeled the areas that i live near up here in NE Kansas!
