Jia's reiteration of "What else do you want to know?" makes me think, oddly enough, of the Voluspo section of the Poetic Edda, based in Norse mythology and Germanic legends. A seeress who's being consulted by Odin proves her ability by telling secrets that he thought he alone knew; she repeats, several times, "Would you know yet more?" It's always struck me as half a question, half a challenge or warning or even a taunt: "Do you really want me to tell you? You might not like what I have to say." Here, Jia comes across to me as that seeress. She is beyond fearing for her own safety, and in a perverse way, she seems to be enjoying spilling these secrets to Ruyi, as if this is a cross between an unburdening confession and reveling in the wickedness she's done. Telling Ruyi "I did this, and this, and this" is pleasurable to her in a sick way, but so is saying "I don't know about that, or that, or that", because it means Ruyi still doesn't know who committed certain acts. She's lashing out with the most brutal weapon at all--honesty--and it's just as potent as all of her lies and deceptions and manipulations. There is no guilt or shame in her, just a cold clear knowledge of what she's done and her own motivations. It's a great performance by the actress.

both women share something in common. Jia devoted to his Lordship, Ruyi devoted to the Emperor. In the end they both are failed by both men they love. how sad honestly, Jia was evil and everything but she tends to have only done so for her sons at some point.

If you look at how these so called Noble consorts ended up, the Emperor should have considered how his miniscule handling of their bad behavior due to their clan backing had a hand in their actions. The main person who suffered was always Ruyi. He never once considered why they all were targeting her and not so.much the other consorts. Due to her not having a powerful family, he was more inclined to turn a partial blind eye and make a half hearted apology to the woman he supposedly loved. Goes to show, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Aunque era ambiciosa Jia era la mejor actriz. Me mata Ruyi cuando le dice que Jia amo siempre Lord Yu y era frívolo.. y el emperador era peor!!!! Jaja
I would've had RongPei slap the daylights outta her telling me to shut up. I wouldn't care if she was sick. It didn't seem to cross Jia's mind that she was reaping the evil she had sown. All the pain, suffering and evil she wished on Ruyi came back on her 10 fold. Same with Gao, A'Rou, 1st Empress and Yanwan. For all of them it was too long in coming. Served her just right. That sly smile of Ruyi's.
