For me it was letting go of the feeling of guilt whenever someone spent their money on me. I’m the daughter of a single mother so I was hyper conscious of every cent that my mother spent on me and what it represented to her economy. I have spent most of my life feeling like an economic load. Also, I’m 22 years old and my generation (Gen Z) has almost killed chivalry and generous masculinity. I used to never have fun when dating people because I was too worried about being “cool” and not “a traditional up-tight girl who expected the guy to pay the check”. Letting go of that was so good for me. I had a hard time finding someone my age who was willing to adapt to this expectations that I have from a man even at this time in history when I, as a woman, am expected to be as worn out by life as any man and therefore, unable to enjoy it. Fortunately, even though stating your limits, desires and needs requieres sacrifice, it payed off and today, my boyfriend understands that femininity and beauty are important to me and supports it. He even feels better about himself when he does something masculine for me. I’m very lucky because this is really scarce within my age range. Before, I was completely unable to receive any kind of gift because I felt unworthy of it or forced to give back something in return. Now I receive with open arms and just give back gratitude. I feel so much better.

I'm completely with you there. Although I grew up with two parents, money was always tight and it was (and sometimes still is) really hard to let go of that guilty feeling when someone pays for me or gives me something. I would always reciprocate. Recently, I've allowed myself to bask a little bit more in the love people are showering on me and it really does feel good to let go of the past and embrace the future. I love your message. And yes, I totally agree that it feels like you're the outlier when it comes to wanting chivalry and to feel taken care of. It feels like our society doesn't reward that notion right now, but I'm so grateful to see others stepping into their femineity and validating the desire of be feminine. My fiancé says it feels amazing to know he's taking care of me and that it's okay for me to let go of my need for control, built up over years of past experiences. Rebuilding the foundation can be difficult, but I would argue the outcome is worth it.

Yes I think this is so important! I went to a military boarding school and among the women there was SO much of this. And I have heard that in all girls schools this stuff happens a lot less. Women get like this mainly because they are fighting over the crumbs that men leave for them and we need to stop.

I recently introduced more colors into my wardrobe, even a few feminine patterned pieces (like flowers and polka dots) and I couldn’t believe how much more feminine I felt! I, too, got very minimal with my wardrobe with lots of grays, blacks, and navy. While I love and appreciate everything that experience taught me, I’m so much happier with having a more colorful wardrobe that let’s be feel girly and cute.

Femininity is an interesting topic for me. I've been aware for a long time now that I have feminine and masculine traits as well (as all of us do). What worked for me is just to embrace them both. Sometimes it's dresses with elaborate sleeves, sometimes it's Oxford shoes with trousers and vests. Sometimes my logical self analyses and breaks down the world around me, and sometimes my intuition takes over and leads me to explore new things. And sometimes I wonder what makes a trait feminine or masculine, and subjectively, I only label things as such (solely for myself, not prescribing it for others) when they make me feel so. So I think as long as one does what makes them feel like themselves, they are on the right track.

I love lifting and I love how strong and capable my body is after 3 years of just doing it a couple times a week. It's helped me really understand the value of sticking to your goals even if you can only give 5% to them. My husband and I have a home gym and we workout together as a way to connect; he is quite athletic and is basically my personal trainer. I always struggled with getting myself to the gym. I much prefer just incorporating more general physical activity into my lifestyle, like walking the dog or biking around my neighborhood. Hiking, camping, kayaking, yoga, etc. I do what feels good in the moment and the results have been way more effective and long-lasting than when I was trying to make myself to to the gym.

I find this so interesting! I was depressed for a long time, and I recently noticed how my colour pallette has changed since I am no longer unhappy. I am no longer hiding my feminity behind a masculinised version of feminity. I LOVE pastels and frilly dresses and I wear them everyday! I enjoy curling in my hair in the morning! I enjoy putting on make up and my need for attention and affection from my partner isn't troublesome or needy. I deserve to be loved! And I drop that when I am starting to feel down. So now that's my first sign, when there is something wrong. At the end you talked about disconnecting from constant consumption and at the beginning of this year I went on a walk everyday 30-60 minutes. I have been wanting to put that back into my routine, because I have felt myself partially slipping back into my masculine. So I will try and bring that back into my daily schedule! When you mentioned Pilates and going to the gym, something clicked for me. I used to do Pilates but swapped it for going to the gym, and before a knee injury I would be hitting the gym 4 to 6 times a week. Always looking at the guys trying to compete with what they could do. I haven't got a gym membership at the moment because of a move, but was thinking about getting a new one. Now I am thinking, I'd rather sign up for Pilates classes. I don't need to compete, I don't need to prove myself through the amount I can push, pull or lift.... I'd rather relax while working out, stretch and align with my body and self. Thank you! I really enjoy and profit from your content! 💕

So many of these resonate with my own femininity journey! I didn’t even realize it until this video but one of the first things I ever started doing that helped me reconnect with my femininity was to decorate my room and make beautiful spaces. I went through the monochromatic capsule wardrobe phase and STILL had nothing to wear. After realizing jewel tones are my favorite and colors I look best in, I brought them into my wardrobe and I’ve never loved it more! I also realized I hate wearing black, grey and white…. So those items are gone. You taught me being feminine means embracing the flow of how you feel. I could never stick with a regimented workout routine and hated myself for it. I thought I was so lazy because of it. Now I do daily walks, sometimes runs if I feel like it, and daily stretching and meditation. I’ve lost 5 lbs in a month using my feelings as a guide rather than a strict schedule. THANK YOU!

What I did to work on my femininity: 1. Romanticize daily living 2. STOPPED CURSING!!!! 3. Got rid of blacks, greys and blues (I don’t really like blue) 4. Got rid of jeans (they just made me feel very masculine for some reason). I now have one pleated, high waisted trousers in olive green and one high waisted shorts in the same color made of very soft yet flattering fabric. 5. Introduced floral patterns into my wardrobe. 6. Midi skirts 7. Midi dresses 8. Soft cardigans (no more hoodies and sweat jackets) 9. Feminine thong sandals vs my old Birkenstocks. **1 and 2 were the most effective steps for my journey. It helped me be less negative about my life.

A couple of things are opposite for me!! One of them is the gym, but I choose the things I love! We have an amazing yoga program, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, etc. I do also enjoy lifting, but I listen to my body when needed. Another one that’s opposite for me was getting off of birth control. It was extremely hard on my body and made me miserable and I gained a ton of weight. There are some forms of hormonal birth control that also make me miserable, but when I am on the right one, it helps make me feel my best self. I felt so pressured to get off of it, and even felt guilty going back on, but ultimately I decided it’s what’s best for me right now!!

It's been 15 years of having it, and when I told doctors I think it may be the problem with my mental health, they laughed. Finally took it out this year, and suddenly I'm thinking of who I was before, how I've become more "masculine" in my approach to everything, going back to feminity, etc. You are so right!!! @@rachelsnider1347 I use the "Marquette Method" of Natural Family Planning. There are other methods too, but this one is the easiest and most fool-proof, which is why I prefer it. In a nutshell, I use a fertility monitor to determine which day I ovulate in a given month. I abstain from sex during the five days prior to my earliest "peak" fertility day, and for the 48 hours afterward. The device I use (Clearblue) keeps track of which days of the month were my peak fertility days for the previous six months. Avoiding sex during my fertile window in the month does require self-control, but it has been so good for me (and my husband). We have had to learn to connect in non-sexual ways. We value sex so much more because we can't just have it whenever we want. I have gotten to know my body so well. All good things.

I got divorced 3 years ago and recently someone who hadn’t seen me since before I got divorced commented that I dress so much cuter now than I used to. I wasn’t all black and grey before but my clothes were very plain. Solid tops, black pants or plain jeans, barely any dresses, plain ballet flats. Now my clothes are so much more “me”. I never even realized that when I was married I was so unhappy and I was burying my personality to the point where even my clothes weren’t what I liked.

The perspective on birth control was pretty interesting. As a man just observing, I think that a lot of women actually resent their bodies because of their natural cycles. It's a rather insidious, subconscious belief to fall into, and it's honestly quite sad. I'm glad that your experience has led you into a different understanding.
@JillzGuerin

I think that’s true…at least I felt that way a little bit! We’re taught that our cycles are a burden from a young age, and they can be incredibly painful if our health is off in some way, but over the years I’ve learned how wonderful they are!

What’s sad is that we exist in cultures that are totally disconnected from femininity and femaleness, so we’ve grown up with very unhelpful messages about how our female bodies and bodily functions are generally perceived. Discussion about female hormones, anatomy, reproduction, menstrual cycles- all of it is either explicitly negative, or else about how to correct/change/hide what is inherently female about our bodies and existence. So there’s no discussion about why we should accept and honor how our bodies work. No discussion about working with our bodies instead of trying to suppress and punish them for being how they are. Furthermore, in terms of the topics covered in this video (how to feel more ‘feminine’), I don’t actually know what I feel real authentic femininity even is. We just don’t get to hear that narrative or that perspective- we’re in a male-dominated society which has historically only produced narratives *about* women, not *from* women.

I agree with everything but especially about content consumption. In the morning, while drinking my coffee, I stay off the phone and just zone out and meditate/pray and let my mind free to think about whatever comes across. I love learning and consuming more knowledge, but there is a cutoff where it can get to be too much sometimes. I believe too much can be over stimulating and information overload. I have noticed this causes a strain on my energy level and mental stability. I also love the idea about water, it IS so relaxing and I do end my day with a hot shower to “wash the day off” and to relax and step back into my true self. ❤

Hi I am new to your channel. The best thing I did was get off the mirena. I was on it for almost 10 years and notice it made me more irritable, angry and mean. I also notice I was uncomfortable in my own body I had put 30 lbs on and I did not feel like myself. I was over eating, very moody, and I had constant crying break downs, brain fog alot, and could not keep a sentence going, and my acne was bad it was painful. Within a month I notice a lot of my side effects went away. My brain was more clear, I could focus, I started getting my drive back and notice that I am taking more pride in my skin clearing up.

Really great points you make about constantly consuming content, it being a very masculine mode of consciousness. I struggle a lot with that one. I just become like an information processor or something. But that part of me seems restless, always needing to be filled. It is based on rationality and needing to control, with an underlying restlessness. Fortunately, i am learning to be patient, grateful, and guided by intuition and my heart, rather than tyrannized by the discursive intellect.

I enjoy watching a few fem videos since it's been a long time. Never stop learning, it's good to have a reminder to be soft and calm. I never used birth control, so I don't know about the consequences. I do know that casting out demons every day has changed my mood noticeably for the better. Oh yes fasting from the phone and tv is refreshing. My perspective on life had been negative for a long time because of the toxic people and things telling me how to think, but once I got in a freedom mindset while holding onto God at the same time I could as you said, be present.

It really depends on the person, I guess! :) (I have endometriosis, and my birth control helps ease the pain and bleeding I get from it when I get my period and stuff.) 1. include more colours into your wardrobe 2. Get rid of the gym membership, or get rid of sport that you don’t enjoy just to get some results. find a sport that connect you with your body and your intuition 3. get off birth control pill. Read “what is your brain on birth control” for more insight . Get back with your hormone is a game changer 4. Get off guilt for buying things for beauty and wellness. having your nails done, facial, high quality skincare. 5. remove the habit of constantly consuming content. this allows you to have time to connect with yourself. if you constantly hearing or learning something, it gets your brain stuck into a masculine state.

YES to getting off birth control. Every man has respected my choice and condoms (or with my serious partner other methods 🙃) do the job. Yes, there’s more needed (lube, etc. testing out different brands) but in my mind it’s WORTH it. Now I love my cycle more and more (yeah, kicking the word “period” to the curb, now even my partner says cycle instead of period haha). Honoring my natural state and tracking them is so easy with apps now. Never had an “oops” in 10 years. I feel so much better

Or you could even go more traditional and not have sex with a man you’re not married to. It’s very feminine to say no until there’s real commitment. Think about it: sex is designed to create life and birth control hasn’t always been around. You’re wired to wait until you have commitment so that you know your kids are provided for. When you have sex, you are physiologically saying that you are ready to have a baby with the other person. If that’s not the case, it’s going to mess up your brain.

I can definitely agree there's too much consumption of mission of media. However I would argue it's not just women who could benefit from cutting back on media consumption.Sometimes in life we just need downtime to just exist in our being and be content with what we have. Hopefully we reach a point in life people as a whole value contentment.

Birth control pills and devices are powerful treatments against multiple painful conditions that heavily impact women's lives. They can make you feel free, empowered and even more feminine since there's nothing "natural" about doubling up with pain and not being able to lead a "normal" life because there's something off within your reproductive system. Let's not forget we are not all perfectly healthy and some of us still need an extra boost from medications
