Chris Rock is amazing for keeping his sanity that night. He was slapped by an ego maniac infront of the whole world but he had the strength to stand strong and continue. I was a fan of Will Smith before that and was thrilled for his Oscar but after that slap, I felt embarrassed for ever liking such a loser character. As Jim Carrey said, seeing the hollywood give him a standing ovation was absolutely sickening.

Probably less so in some ways, because they’re very conscious of their careers & how they appear in the press. Jim Carrey is a great actor and a funny comedian, and while Ace Ventura was his breakout film [In Living Color was TV] that made him really try to prove himself and almost seemed like he was trying to get away from stuff like Dumb & Dumber even though those were the roles he made lots of money doing. The Majestic was very much trying too hard to be a dramatic actor, but The Truman Show was the real Jim Carrey movie because he was funny and real and you couldn't watch it and not feel for Truman and his forced life. The dude has serious acting chops but was always denied a chance for an award because the people who run the show have incredibly superficial and biased attitudes towards the art that is acting. It's like preening judges in many sports who have zero idea about the sport itself, or what makes a good competitor, and score based on random shit (like how a female gymnast looks or incredibly specific technical form that doesn't really demonstrate the essence of gymnastics, which is nigh superhuman strength, flexibility, and coordination).

Everyone thought it was part of some planned skit between them. That's why nothing was done. Chris Rock laughing it off didn't help. Had he reacted differently and used the mic to call for security then I think everyone there would have taken it seriously. It wasn't until a few days after that people started to realise it was a real assault.

I like Jim Carey but he hasn’t really been truly exposing anything. He’s basically a shill.. it may seem like he’s “exposing” Hollywood but in all actuality he is well aware of his position. Even though he’s been able to amass a substantial net worth it’s still crumbs in comparison to the people who allowed him to generate and keep it. They use comedians, musicians , actors , mixed media etc in conjunction with a technique known as predictive programming(among many other techniques) to tell certain truths to the masses but it’s never the complete truth or enough to actually thwart their nefarious antics !! The same entities who paid Jim Carey for this interview are more than likely somehow connected to the same companies who funded the Oscar’s . These same Hollywood elites who helped Chris Rock and Will Smith accumulate their net worths. Try to go against them and end up like R.Kelly and or P.Diddy
