An underrated moment was FTR making Rick Knox actually look like an authority figure when Cash got his foot on the rope. Knox wasn’t buried during the entire match and that one singular moment made Knox actually look like an old school ref with some power.

Just a guess... its CM Punk. He said either right before or right after he joined AEW that FTR was his current fave Tag Team, he's worked matches like 3-4 times now either against FTR or Dax in single. Punk has control of his creative and who he wants to work with, he's been giving FTR the rub and been in Tony's ear about pushing them and I'd bet my Graded 8.5 Wayne Gretzky Rookie Card on it.

This FTR face run has been perfect. They had the Gunn Club’s best match ever (which was a really good match), they had a fantastic match with the Briscos which could be match of the year and they had a another match of the year contender with the Bucks here. The reason everyone is presented competitive in AEW is so that when the time comes for competitors to face off against one another in a PPV it doesn't seem unbelievable. I glad Jim covered this because I completely forgot it was going to happen. That was hands down one of the (not the best) best tag matches I’ve seen. Bucks have to look in the mirror and think that if they’d bothered to learn the art of wrestling and the storytelling aspect of it instead of trying to redefine “good wrestling” into something else, they could’ve had years of matches this damn good. Their selling, execution and timing was superb and when not just spamming their moves, they finally let it register and it whipped that crowd into a frenzy. I just hope they learn from the best while they have the chance to work with FTR. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

The Young Bucks annoy me but I have seen a good amount of their matches that were/are EXCELLENT. When they want to go they can hang with the best of them. Not just with the in-ring skills but with their facials, story telling, psychology and selling, they can do it all and at the best level when they really want. They're undoubtedly super talented but they usually go the goofy route.

I do like The Young Bucks even when they do the highspot stuff, I'm a sucker for huge spots, but there's no way they're the best tag team in the world. That goes to FTR for a lot of reasons, but the Bucks can actually wrestle when they choose to and in my opinion should cut down on the highspots and the other silly stuff as heels if they want to be taken seriously and in the conversation for best team in wrestling right now especially since both have dealt with injuries the past couple years. All that being said, this match was absolutely fucking bonkers and credit goes to both teams for this because even though FTR obviously led this, the Bucks as I said were able to actually keep up as far as the actual wrestling stuff goes and thus resulted in probably the best tag match in AEW history aside from maybe them against Page and Omega, which was also sick.

Something I wish AEW would have done with the Owen Cup is not only have the men and women's tournaments, but a tag tournament too. FTR would be a good tag team to be the first to win the Owen Cup for tag teams if that would happen. Then you could have Bret Hart come down and shake their hands which would be a great special appearance (Martha will show up as well). If ReDragon beats Jurassic Express, then have FTR challenge them down the line. Allow FTR to become one of the most decorated tag teams in AEW for a year so that they can hand the torch to another team next year. But definitely keep these guys up there because they'll be great in helping to groom more tag teams.
