Andre, Undertaker, Kane, those types all come to mind. Cody is not that type of character. His run became despised immediately when they realized every segment was a "Cody segment" completely all about him as he was restricted on furthering his goal to be world champ. His MJF 2020 "We Deserve Better" shirt was the only thing outside of the FTR shirt that I bought from their garbage AEW merch as the message still stands. Now thanks to Jericho's advice, the IWC/smarks constant cheering, Tony Clown's shit tier booking and his comedy segments with Adam Smol, he is doing throwaways with CMLL guys at Forbidden Snore, complete with a tattoo that is not going to age well. All while his other MLW compatriot, Jacob Fatu is already mixed in with the top heel faction on SD battling Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns when he returns.

Firstly. He needs to stop with the spray tan. My lord he dips himself in it. His hair plugs are awful. He's just not being booked right at the moment.

MJF has been minimized as well. His now heel turn seems like a paint by numbers attempt to try to get his heat back but he’s fucked now too like the rest of the lollipop guild, extreme gymnasts and bad bodies wrestling wannabes

Jim needs to realises that MJF is paid up for this. This match was another random match, that for almost everyone, was against a nobody. To me the match was poor, MJF was mid, and a week later, nobody remembers it.

MJF seems to me, like a dude that needs more coaching or structure to advance himself. but in AEW u kinda have to lead your own stuff cuz theres no leadership. MJF I think is still wet behind the ears but he just hides it really well with his confidence. his selling needs to get smarter. sometimes he oversells. I get why he stayed in AEW since he can have more control over what he does and he can curse and say things he could never say in somewhere like WWE but I feel the WWE system can teach people about restraint. putting parameters on talent can sometimes give new perspective and build people in areas where they were weak, once overshadowed by their strengths

When I first watched wrestling (WWE) PPV here in Germany on free TV with some delay, the opening matches were often fought by someone like Tito Santana, reliable fan favorite, who would get the crowd rolling for the later matches. Somewhat sad to see MJF in a similar role. Granted, as the home town boy, it meant either opener or main event for him to get enough exposure, but still.

While the concept of Forbidden Door is interesting unfortunately the US wrestling fan has no idea who the Mexican and Japanese wrestlers are so AEW is facing a uphill battle.

I saw Hechicero about 12 years ago in a mat h against a 'Cavernario' who obviously had a caveman gimmick. Tbh their luchadore collection has been as bad as their initial joshi based women's division, where they got the least impressive Japanese talent to make up their women's division. Hechicero was pretty legitimate back then. Glad to hear he and MJF had a nice match .

I’m just kind of curious as when did so many wrestling fans become nothing but negative trolls, I’m amazed at all the negative comments on here. I’ve been a wrestling fan since the 60s and MJF is one of the few things in today’s wrestling that I would flip on the TV to watch. Yes his promos are a bit repetitive but pretty much everybody’s promos Are repetitive in someway or another. At the end of the day his matches are entertaining they normally makes sense, and he’s one of the few wrestlers out there that’s worth a damn. I’m not sure if most of these trolls or WWE marks or the wrestling fan is truly turned that negative if so that’s truly sad. Back when I was younger we had all the territories I was a fan of multiple territories and enjoyed going to see different shows in different territories. But I’ve also always been an open minded guy. Thanks again Jim great as usual.
