Me and my wife and cousin spent an evening at a bar with Jim Gaffigan. He was touring and picked a bar above a club to hang out in after his show. The younger crowd at the bar didn’t know who he was. He recognized us from his meet and greet after the show earlier in the evening and approached the three of us to say hello. We spent a few hours chatting about friends, family, and our local area. He’s hilarious and a gentleman.

@@maybeimbiased You're right. "My wife, my cousin, and I..." is proper English. But most Americans don't speak proper English. Lots of us start with "Me" in casual conversation. To some people (including myself) putting "me" first sounds self-centered, but to many people it doesn't. Hope this explanation helps.

In my mother tongue (Spanish), we have a saying that goes "el burro delante (para que no se espante)", which roughly translates to "the donkey at the front, so it doesn't get scared". I've read it's kind of similar to the English phrase "Age before beauty" but we use it to say that it is impolite put the subject "I" at the beginning of a phrase when there are other people. In Spanish it isn't just impolite, though, it's grammatically incorrect. That's why I asked. Thank you!

I just saw Jim in DC. All of this was part of the stand up routine. All of it. So he's just doing his bit. It's not an interview. But it's still great content. All new material and no tropes.

When I go hiking with my daughters and we hear someone coming up the trail , we’ll pretend to be zombies , my daughter can twist her ankle and drag it on the ground, she mess her hair up and swing her arms , it’s scary , people have turn around running , good times

Regardless of recent events, I admit I was a little afraid he was gonna make a joke based on pranking people based on violence. It's creepy and a little beneath him, and if someone ever pranked me like that, I like to think I'd add a little of the prankster's own blood to the scene. Making people scared based on their concern for others is just wrong. In fact I think the whole TikTok prank culture is mostly stupid and sickening, like faking you're seriously hurt to scare your kid (yes I've seen that), is just sick. Overall, prank humor is lame anyway. Like jumping out to startle someone... Grow up!
