ColdenBaller Louis' last special was kind of meh. Stanhope's last hour had me fighting for air. How he managed to make his mom's suicide funny is beyond the brightest among us.

SpaceManDawn I'd definitely put Louis up there too. His last special has grown on me and it's not like it still wasn't better than 99% of the sets from other comedians. Plus, his previous 4 specials were insanely high quality not to mention his TV show. My order would probably go, Louis CK, Bill Burr, Doug Stanhope, then Jim Jefferies, but they are all pretty equally great IMO.

He said "Fingering" hence why he asked for qualification of it being a swear word. Look back at the bleep and imagine he's saying fingering and it will fit like a glove. He's right though. Little reaction to him saying "shit" or "Fucking" twice but fingering...ohh no that's crossing the line. How is fingering a visually more offensive concept than fucking? Anyway Jim was awesome and Conan is always cool. His shock is pretend which is a generous way of playing into Jims hand. Good interview.

That is not how Lazenby got the gig as Bond nor how he lost it. The real story is insanely amazing and way too convoluted to condense to a few sentences, but it'll make you love George Lazenby. Watch 'Everything or Nothing The Untold Story of 007'.

Nope. Just watch Becoming Bond. He didn't want the notion of being the next James Bond. After all he faked his way in getting the film to begin with. When he realized how big this role would become he intentionally did everything he could to distance himself from the character (like grow a beard), to the point he just threw it away.

@LordDavid04 The Bond films were already an incredibly complex machine at the time, and one actor, especially without experience could be eaten whole by it (Connery hated it by the time he made YOLT). Especially when the first time director of his movie used this weird method of not talking to him directly on the set, to put him into the state of mind of his character, and when the producers and everybody else pushed him to "be" like Sean Connery, which was a lost cause. In the seventies, it took three films for Roger Moore, a much more seasoned actor, to get the writers to adjust the part to his personality and his strengths. Lazenby could legitimately assume in 1969 that he would achieve this. Lazenby's stunt had worked, he was cast in the most high-profile part in the world at the time, but he found that playing Bond wasn't as fun as he expected it to be. The whole Becoming Bond documentary shows that he's an easy-going guy who hated obligations. So, when it was time to negotiate the whole 7-film contract, he let his agent make outrageous offers without thinking twice. A part of him didn't want to play Bond for a long time and to be forced to respect a long list of obligations that came with the contract, or with the tabloid press.

What most people don't realize is that the FCC doesn't have authority over any programming that isn't broadcast tv or radio. Basically any subscriber based broadcast is out of their jurisdiction.
