Ok, couldnt agree more on the Jim’s opinion with Piers. Couldnt disagree more on his opinion with Johnny... But love how Jim agrees on the ability to make a career slurring your drunken words into a microphone!! Haha!!! (I have a Johhny Cash playlist and ya for the long roadtrips👍)

It has nothing to do with him being an Aussie. Johny cash is loved here. Country music in general has a home here. As a baby my dad used to get me to sleep by sing Johny. Jim just has different tastes. Also it's a common trend to gain attention by saying controversial things, this is what Jim is doing. (Funnily enough it's the same way Piers got famous)

Obtuse or not, it needed saying. Too many people say they ''like'' Cash because they believe they have to. It's the received opinion in many social circles. Cash is the Country guy whose name, people who say they don't even like Country, will always throw in as the exception that proves the rule. He's like the White Bob Marley. You don't need to be a reggae fan to like Bob Marley. Everybody likes Bob Marley. The difference is, Marley is the shit!! He earned his icon status. The vast majority of people who claim to love Johnny Cash are like those trendy hacks who wear a brand new torn Ramones Tshirt as a fashion statement, without knowing a single Ramones song. He should be a cult figure with a small but dedicated community of fans. That's the level he deserves. Instead people who never listen to him unless he happens to be on their car radio, carry on like he invented music or something. I'm with Jim, 100%.

i grew up on punk/goth/new wave/post punk type stuff, but i have always loved early original first wave 50s rock and roll and R&B. i also love like 40s through 60s country AND western music and it always angers me a little how people want to give ALL credit to the blues and black artists and NONE at all to country music or white artists in the birth of rock and roll. and i always liked Johnny Cash, but i started to really hate in the 90s at some point where he started becoming some sort of edgy cool factor ironic hero to younger generations. i hate all the people i meet that say they hate country music but they like Johnny Cash, like he is the one and only artist that has ever had the country tag that they will give a chance or at least claim they like. i have always disliked his whole man in black defending the inmates thing, as if alot of those people arent awful people. like there are people out there more deserving of our sympathies than rapists and murderers. and yes i have always disliked that "the man in black" credit he gets as if he did something never done before. i hate how there are these great songs out there that most people would never give the time of day, but when Johnny covers them then they will give it a chance. i hate the whole way he is just some pop culture cool icon now that people love even though they dont really know shit about him, or they only know whats in a film they watched. i hate the way Elvis is shit on these days but Johnny is cool personified. i like Johnny Cash, he has some great music, but i dont think he is grander or greater than many other early rock and roll or country artists. i dont necessarily disagree with Piers Morgan, but yeah i find him so obnoxious and hateful that i can watch him.

I watched the Johnny Cash movie in theaters when it came out. Listening to him sing gave me such a headache. It might have been great back then, but his voice gets so tiring. The songs are bland. He has no business being as famous as he is.

I'll take piers over jim any day. There's lots I dont agree with piers morgan over but he's upfront and you know what you're getting. I think Jim has unfortunately become abit of a James corden type were he's trying to sound as left as he can to advance his career. Used to love him but he's simply not the same guy as he was.
