FightHype's Sean Zittel recently caught up with world-renowned commentator Jim Lampley, who had a lot to say about the impressive performance of newly-crowned undisputed welterweight king Terence Crawford after his dominant 9th round stoppage of former champion Errol Spence Jr. You don't want to miss what he had to say about that and much more. Check it out!

He's overrated fury as much as I love fury thats the truth. The problem is people think to beat fury you need size. That is undoubtedly the wrong approach. Speed footwork IQ beats fury. Usyk beats fury and that why fury is running from him. Fans are using the same language they used for spence vs crawford when defending fury. Usyk will outclass him. Fury knows it and that's why he's running. He makes outrageous demands and usyk agrees to them and then fury still turns the fight down. 😂

Generational fantasy matchups are pointless because the fact is that Terence Crawford would not be the same fighter he is today without Floyd Mayweather Jr. to study from, just like Floyd Mayweather Jr. would not be the same fighter he was without being able to study the fighters that came before him like Pernell Whitaker, James Toney, Sugar Ray Leonard etc.

While all true, the argument is could the student be better than the master? Of course there's the advantage that Bud had Floyd to learn from... but hypothetically who would win if they both fought in their primes? There can never be a factual answer but my money would be on Floyd via decision. As quick as Crawford is, prime Floyd was quicker. Also Floyd was smarter imo with better defence, and had enough power to get the attention of his opponent, while having a solid chin himself

You're so right regardless of Zab record at the time Zab was prime and game. EVEN his lighting speed was dismantled after of the adjustment. The version of Money Mayweather that fought Canelo in my opinion would've out boxed anyone at 147/154 at that time.

Bud might just beat Floyd. He definitely has some things better than Floyd.🤷🏽‍♂️I heard Spence gave Floyd a black eye and showed Floyd who he was. So maybe Bud might do the same if not worse, although that was an out of shape old Floyd even if Bud fought a prime Floyd, Floyd might get touched by Bud. Who knows tho definitely would be a great fight.

Floyd once he beat Dela Hoya. It was all about the most amount of money with the least amount of risk. He literally fought Robert Guerrero and Andre Berto. I'm not saying he didn't beat some really good fight is cuz he did but he was never going to challenge himself he never moves up the 154 he could have fought Laura he could afford Paul Williams he could have fought Sergio Martinez he did not fight any of them triple G's manager literally said he sent an email to Floyd Mayweather asking about a matchup he never got a response according to him. People are so obsessed with power and some people would favor Crawford over Floyd because of that. Floyd beat Canelo with IQ alone and he couldn't just walk through his punches. The boxer with the highest IQ wins and that's Floyd. Believe it or not power is not what beat Spence, Danny is probably the biggest puncher at welterweight. Brook and Porter said Spence hits harder than Crawford but guess who won, Crawford. Why? Superior IQ #peace.

You kidding me? Comparing Gatti to Spence????? What Crawford did hasn't been since since Foreman's beat down of Frazier fifty years ago. Spence is a pressure fighter without head and lateral movement. Crawford never had to think but simply react and counter. With that being said, Spence clearly isn't the same fighter @147, I felt the weight cuts been hurting him more and more each fight. To me he looked weak during the Porter fight. Now I've always said Crawford's gifts would be the difference, and it would be a better match at 154 for Spence. You can't get in the ring with a guy like Crawford, and not be at full strength or 100%! I actually had Crawford stopping him in round 6 or 7, and I'm a Spence guy. I told my homeboy when it was announced that he can't beat Crawford at 147. Just as I think Tank and Shakur beat Haney at 135, you must be at 100% to F with guys like that.

Does he get in with someone who is just as dynamic as him and not look great? We've seen it all before. A fighter looks AWESOME one fight and ordinary the next. Spence had the worst off day in the biggest fight of his life. Closest Floyd had as an off day in actual fight was against Miguel Cotto, and still beat him. Fury got dropped 2 x and layed to sleep by Wilder in fight 1 , dropped hard 4times overall imagine what Lennox would do..!! Imagine what Rahman ,Bowe , Mike Tyson 😳

As bad as we know Wilders boxing skills are no where near anyone else’s Wilder is a freak of nature and he can drops any heavyweight that ever lived. Lennox got stopped twice to two lesser people Wilder will do the same.

@@saihemebillings2820 Wilder has knockout power. His not the combo puncher AJ is or the boxer Usyk is. Lennox was going through the HW division unlike Fury who’s never even fought a unification in a 15yr pro career. His day will come tho

Did you really mention Rahman?....Fury would do whatever he wants with Rahman. Only one with a shot would be Lewis.

@@michaelbassey1993 I don't believe that at all..Fury hasn't fought dudes like Rahman at all ..He was 4stone heavier than Wilder & Out hustled an already retiring Vlad..Not a punch landed in that entire fight except when Vlad went after him in 10th with a left hook too late and still dropped gear immediately after till end

@@imperialkingdom4821 An already retired Vlad who years later, almost KOed Joshua, right?.....Fury would also out-weigh Rahman by 31 pounds. This, plus Fury’s slickness/recovery powers and Rahman would have stood no chance.

What about Sugar ray,Hearns or Hagler?….I don’t know if Bud(or Mayweather), beats them. They were going 15 rds easily back then as well. Shout out to Bud though, he’s definitely great👍🏾✊🏾💪🏾
