Jim was just a simple, fragile human being, maybe thats why he died so young...misunderstood, and maybe complex...but he was like anyone who is destined to be great, a true spokesman for a generation. Because - they knew the cosequences of it plus, they had trouble with substances...Jim would be the LAST person in the world to tell a journalist and in press Conference smoking pot is cool. YOU MUST RECALL he fought Pamela Courson for her heroin use. He was very complex because everyone who thgouht he was dumb because he used sometimes drugs founded out he defeated them in an intellectual conversation, which was what he liked to do best: read. I think it is "HWY: An American Pastoral" a.k.a. "The Hitchhiker" directed by Paul Ferrara in 1969, an experimental film written by and with Jim doing the part of a hitchhiker who comes out of the desert and travels to Los Angeles.

the outer shot of L.A. indicates that this was a scene (cut?) from Jim Morrison's short film HWY (1969) which in essence is a presentation of Morrison's darkside... Jimbo ...

@panikdrumrguy ..Why do people like u act as though u are "the real deal" or "true fans of Jim" this clip WAS at the beginning of When You're Strange, most of the footage at the beginning of that dvd WAS taken from HWY.that was JIMS movie HE made when he was ALIVE silly.dont u remember seeing him driving his shelby mustang?being at the gas station? in the desert? how about his Feast of Friends movie? Jim wore that coat for a very long time..look at photos, read books,educate yourself then speak.

JIM was not a musician- just a singer. Trust me on this. You may know biographies, have seen videos, interviews, etc. I went a few steps deeper. I read a lot of the same books that Jim read. You want to learn something about Jim and why he behaved the way he did?! You should research his childhood and read, at least, some of the same books he did. If Jim hadn't died of a heroin overdose... he would've been dead within two years, probably one. He was a full blown alcoholic and he would cough up blood toward the end of his life. When an alcoholic starts coughing and sees blood splatters, he/she knows "the end is near." I've seen it happen to people. Jim was the walking-dead in his last year of life. He spent a good portion of his final performance just laying on the stage in a drunken stupor. It was at "The Warehouse" in New Orleans. His band mates retreated backstage till they heard Jim mumbling into the microphone. Jim was far for ill than "Janice" when he passed. And "Jimi Hendrix" wasn't ill at all other than a cold and fatigue- he was MURDERED.

I know this was around 70 cus of that jacket unless he had one like that his whole carreer which I doubt. Anyone seen When your strange, the beginning where Jim is looking at the map in front of that mustangs headlights, may have been footage from highway but I never got around to that movie. For some reason I think this was shot after Jim "died". Maybe he faked it to make people want him back, but with all the badgering from others who the hell would want to do anything for people ungrateful

that's not jim playing, he couldn't play any instrument, and take it from someone who plays piano, what he did in the feast of friends film is the kind of thing that people do who can't play piano, they MESS around. He couldn't play one chord on any instrument according to all sources, that's why the doors members were so impressed with his ability to create vocal melodies.

Ronnie Jaraucaro He was 42 years old, its a weird coincidence but elvis died exactly the same age, in fact elvis done a tribute song to him on one of his last albums called, "Elvis and mo jo hit the high ho", its about the influential highland sound that was brought over from Europe and inspired them both and was added to elvis, 1976 tour list
