JR got a raw deal no doubt. But why did flair skate? Because it was months after he’d lost his son to an overdose. So he got a deserved level of grace because they knew the state he was in and how that was largely why it happened. But it was shit because the company was wrong to have put flair in that spot when it was clear he was in a horrible place and that it was a bad idea from the start. They were embarrassed and they wanted to take it out on somebody. They didn’t think they could punish Ric so they took it out on JR

Ric Flair seems to be untouchable. He called Teddy Long the N word and was very blatantly racist back in the day, with no repercussions, but Hogan said it and WWE erased him from their history for over 5 years... it's double standard BS.

@RydenEden heres the problem with that. Flair had a long history of getting ridiculously drunk in public and causing a scene. The pane ride from Hell is another example where he exposed himself to a flight attendant and he skated on that as well . There are many other examples. Most people don't go out and make a drunken Ass of themselves when a loved one dies . Your grief is not the rest of the world's problem. Handle it in private like an adult .

No, but Vince needed an excuse. It's strange how so many people speak so highly of Vince, his wisdom, his fatherly nature etc - even JR saying nothing but good things about him - and yet Vince has this facility to separate business from personal and if he feels that firing someone is best for business, he can do so and still have a very good personal relationship with someone.

JR and The King are the best tag team in wrestling history, yes they tagged on comms not in the ring but never underestimate who made and broke the talent back in the day. I'm the biggest Stone Cold mark and it's 100% down to the way Jim oversold him 24/7 and the way Jerry used to try and put him down, the pinnacle of modern wrestling / sports entertainment which wouldn't have been a shadow of what it was without Jim and Jerry. Here is a question, do you think someone may have spiked your drink? I ask this cause we all have enemies that want us gone or ruin our image and find ways to do so. You having the 1 drink which from the looks of you I can you could have many more and can handle your drinks just fine. Maybe it caused you to misjudge the situation or whatever and in hindsight could it have been something more that caused your lapse in judgment. Pill or liquid drugs have been around for a long time and so easy to get by with but could someone have been hating you so much that they would stoop this low as to get you on Vince's bad side or the last straw Vince could handle. You know how you were feeling but also I'm not gonna be the scapegoat for someone else's mistakes but I will make sure I watch out for their well-being and keep them safe. Firing JR was one of the dumbest things WWE has ever done. Almost as bad as TNA getting rid of Mike Tenay. JR was the voice of Raw, Tenay the voice of Impact - both also have extensive history working for WCW before WWE and TNA. Cole and Mathews aren't bad as such, they're just nowhere near as good. One of the best things AEW did was hire Tony Schiavone (voice of Nitro/WCW) and JR. Someone needs to get the Professor back in the industry. Tenay is too good not to be involved in wrestling. If I was running Impact I'd be moving mountains to get him back ASAP, as TNA needs all the help they can get these days.

People are *still* trying to blame this on Flair? That myth just won't die. Jim has said before that what ultimately got him canned was insulting the sponsors; that's the unprofessional behavior he alluded to in the passage.

@znsbj38 10 up votes agree. More than I would have thought. Besides my comment. There are many interviewers that are less like shock jocks. And give much more time to their guests speaking. Also asking questions is one thing. Constantly promoting blue errection pills 💊 is another. Also he talks more about his own life as a fan too much.

That was his job. Doesn’t change what he did that day. Your attitude is that of a child - and life will be tough if you don’t grow out of it and ever hope to work in a professional environment. Professional - where you’re expected to keep calm no matter what, and act PROFESSIONALLY. Lol. “I’d go off and sure shows him! Hyuk! Then I’d tell him to shove it up his candy ___!” … and then a billionaire ceo and a bunch of other adult professionals would look at you in silent amusement , ask you to leave, and absolutely KNOW they made the right decision. While you will go on to look for a manual labor job as a low level worker.

@@danielsoto6963 My reasoning? Although I live every day as the most optimistic person possible, I know that anyone connected to pro wrestling who does “shoot” interviews is usually kayfabing the facts. Plus, I have never ever met a boozer who told the truth till they got off the booze. On top of that, from the various angles of that fiasco from different attendees, he seemed to be influenced by more than one. But maybe it was a really really big one.
