Since u watched this video . I sold my Traynor YCV 50 which had a creamback 65 and sold the extension cab that went with it which had a V30 both of which were 8ohm. Traded the Traynor for a Marshall DSL 40Cr and then swapped out the stock V type speaker for a creamback M65 which was a huge improvement and made the DSL 40 sound much more vintage warmer and Eliminated the the accessive fizz and harshness.. I also noticed that the 16ohm version of the M65 was much nicer sounding compared to the 8. Less compressed and more open . I also pickup up an orange 1 by 12 with a 16ohm V30 and was blown away by how amazing orogne cabs sound . I am not a fan of orange amps but their cabs are second to none . The M65 and V30 combo with the DSl 40Cr is just amazing . The sound is so huge. The low mids with that set up is just unbelievable. The low mids are so deep and full and it just kicks you rigjt in the guts and the upper mids of the V30 keep the huge lower mids from overpowering the rest of the sound and keep things form getting Muddy and when I play my explorer through that set up the sound get bigger still with the low mids of the explorer but still the clarity does not suffer . The Burstbuckers 2 and 3 in the explorer are the perfect pickups with this setup. The brightness and Strident quality and bite of the Burstbuckers work really well at keeping the clarity in such a low midrange heavy set up. The BBs get rounded off just enough just enough with the low mids of the explorer and the Creamback . The explorer is fast becoming my favorite guitar . All of my heroes play les Paul's and SGs so I always gravitated towards those but the tone of the explorer is really starting to speak to me more .. I am starting to view the explorer as my sound. I also find the explorer a little more forgiving of my questionable chops . Ha!

One of the few videos where, although there is a healthy amount of gain, it never goes past 70s rock. That in addition to you being a great player, and using a great amp, really is one of the few speaker comparison videos that is actually informative. All your speaker comparisons are extremely helpful, probably more that any I’ve heard.

No matter which of the two you own, both are a win. Pair both of them and you're in for your most wet wet-dream come true. Nevertheless, the 65w cream is the new celestion workhorse for rock and heavy, simply one of the best ever. Pair it with the H 75w cream and you'll be on a one way trip to tone nirvana. I'm a high wattage high gain Marshall user, so I don't know firsthand how suitable the creamback lineup would be for other kind of heads, like rectifiers and mods. Keep on rocking.

They both have their appeal. I have a V30 in a 2x12 cab with a lead 80 and it kicks the crap out of the Lead 80 for tone (my amp is Marshall JVM410H). The Lead 80 sounds too 'nasally.' The V30 always cuts through (in a good way). In some vid. clips it can sound a little too 'bitey' (maybe even harsh) with the high end, but practical application is much different and it just works. The low end is punchy and ballsy. I have a 1x12 cab with a Eminence CV-75. The Eminence sounds dead and muffled compared to the V30. I am considering the Creamback for the 1x12 and wondering how it will mix with the V30 and you just answered my question... which is great! Thanks for the vid. I appreciate not having to do all of the comparing on my own. Now in the market for a Creamback! Thanks again.

Stratodan 27 I normally pick the creamback over the vintage 30 too but the v 30 sounds a little better on this setup the playing wad great and I could be that the v30 Suits his playing style more. normally v30s don t sound this good to me.so it's s testament to the players skill . the v30 has a harder sound here but it's not harsh at all.

I love the combo of the v30 and creamback m65 . after watching this video I decided to get a creamback m65. I was going back and fourth over whether I should get a g12h75 creamback or the m65. I normally prefer h magnet speakers like a vintage 30 or g12h30 anni or heritage o was all set to order the h75 creamback when I say this video my 1 by 50 watt combo had a vintage 30 and I have av1 by 12 cab and was finding to v30 speakers to be a bit to harsh and cluttered sounding on the mids . and a bit to much fizz . once I heard them the v30 and creamback 65 paired in this video I was sole on the idea . I was going for a very similar sound to what is heard in this video and I am now very close to the sound i hear in my head . I have my amp exactly where I want it I have rolled through alot of tubes and now have the combo that works best in my amp and have the perfect speaker combo . I love the low mids of the creamback and the upper mids of the v30. makes for a perfectly balanced and versatile sound that can cover both vintage and modern. my sg with whole lotta humbuckers sounds absolutely wonderful . very led zeppelin at earls court 75 sound . have to get a les paul with whole lotta humbuckers now. my les paul trad with slash alnico 2 also sounds amazing with my new speaker set up . I get that very half cocked wah vowely mid range sound with the slash a2 loaded led paul which is great for those classic 80s hard rock and classic metal tones and the sg with whole lotta humbuckers give me that overwound paf classic 70s rock tone I love .. I now have the setup to cover the two main tone types that I love the most and playing is so much more fun now that everything sounds the way I want it too and I find my self playing alot more . I just can't get enough of the sound in hearing and experimenting with it. I feel extremely motivated to just play and improve . I found a sound that works very well for me and am sticking with it and building on it .

Really prefer the thicker, meat of the V30. In every single creamback demo I'm hearing, They seem a bit distant, scooped and hearing a fizzier top end in the overdrive. I like high gain tones but always trying to get it without the fizz. To me V30's tend to have a cleaner, clearer tone that cuts thru a mix..
@humbucker1414
@humbucker1414 Жыл бұрын
I'm so with you on the fizz thing. I think a lot of guys go for that because it sits up in that upper mid/treble range that cuts through and gets heard. I love that frequency range, but I want it to be a grinding sound, not a grainy/fizzy sound. From this video I'd prefer the V30 as well.

Gorgeous Marshall Sound. Im thinking of getting the Bogner Helios 2x12 cab which has a ceramic and a V30 in it. Im thinking putting a 57 on the Creamback and a Royer 121 on the V30 to mellow it a bit. Do you find the mix of the V30 and Cream sound good together when recording as apposed to one or the other?
@JimmyBurkard
@JimmyBurkard 7 жыл бұрын

I have creamback M65 in my mooded blues junior which would drive a 4ohm load for a 2x12" setup due to the ouputtransformer upgrade and i considered buying a V30 and buidling a 2x12" combo. so what I am reading I think there could be problems because the V30 has 100db and the creamback sloley 97db efficacy but I also heart that they are nice together. could somebody give me their thoughts please?? I almost use the amp in a band situation. thank you :)

the vintage 30 sounds clearer but a bit harder sounding . the creamback is smoother but slightly less defined. I think which is better comes down to the application. for home use I would go creamback but for a band setting I would take the vintage 30. the vintage 30 is better for heavier styles as the h magnet gives it a bigger and tighter bottom. to my ears the vintage 30 dominated in the mix . the creamback is less efficient at 97 db where the v30 is 100 an and has a larger magnet. I prefer the creamback h 75 to both of these.

The V30 is definitely cutting more through. Maybe the fact it's been broken in with more hours...? The CreamBack 65 is a very good speaker as well, with a maybe wider spectrum, but it would fit better with an amp that pushes more mids through. I personnally have a 2x12 with a G12T75 and a V30 both well broken in. The V30 pushes through lead notes and the G12T75 brings flesh to rythmic licks. The settings on the amp need a bit of work to accommodate both but, once it's achieved the result is worth it \m/

frantisca i have a 4x12 with 2 v30's & 2 g12t-75's and its the best of both worlds, I'm running a Marshall 2000 TSL 60, my only set back is my guitar now which i am going to upgrade the bridge pick up soon. I have an Agile 2000 LP copy and its a nice solid guitar and with the right pick up you can get that nice LP Crunch

do you find the highs to be harsher or brighter on the 75s or 30s? my 75s have a bit too much sharpness for me but I always hear the v30s are ice pick I'm curious tho since the 75s also are labeled as harsh , which one would you say is easier on the ears in person?

Broken in means it's been used longer and reached it's best sound, hard to quantize. The V30 was used on tours and played loud, therefore, it's more broken in.

Is possible combine one Creamback M65 with a greenback g12m 25watt? both belong to the same family but with different watts. Same 75hz. Same ceramic. But i know that the creamback have a little bit more bass. What do you think?

The V30s sound excellent HERE with your setup, but with the treble turned up I know the creamback would sound equally sparkly with more dynamic mids. The v30s were were way too bright with my setup.

Wfsf Sfsfsd probably a 75w creamback. They are a less harsh version of the v30. The 65w creamback might be a little mellow for you but I get absolutely wicked tones from it. Not harsh at all and very middy. EDIT: my style is very similar to Joe Satriani if that helps
