I can't take it...this is the funniest of the Glick interviews to me. When he sticks with the word "stinky" until Steve totally loses it....ahhh the Genius of Martin Short. I just read his autobiography, and it's absolutely HILARIOUS and a very good read.

This is brilliant. After listening to Martin Short's autobiography, I came to this. It took me a minute or two to get his point of view. Glick is so wonderful horribly ignorant, offensive, and wrong in nearly every way. And it does make you forgt that this is Martin Short. His friends, like Goldie Hawn and Steve, are particularly good.

I love how Steve Martin holds it together very calmly, not caving to Jiminy’s jokes, until he pours it on thick with all the talk of doing a “stinky.” Don’t worry Steve, you did great against a formidable foe-Jiminy eventually cracks even the best of ‘em.

Most successful comedy double acts involve a good straight man. A good straight man is very hard to find. Most comedians want to "out-funny" each other. Steve Martin is a VERY funny guy, but also understands comedy enough to know that if he was acting "funny" this sketch wouldn't have worked.

Good point. Martin Short simply cannot do the straight man, so that role falls to Steve Martin by default. Steve can do either side of the humor extremely well. I recommend Dirty Rotten Scoundrels to see Steve on the other side, when Michael Caine was the straight man. (Mostly.)

They've been great friends for quite a long time. Did "Three Amigos" together back in the '80s. (The third amigo was Chevy Chase, who has very few friends.)
