Here's another transcription by way of request, Speedy West & Jimmy Bryant's "Fretting' Fingers". Decided to play through it at a reasonable tempo so it's more friendly to learn and play. Wrote out both the Root & 3rd, got some feed back recently that some folks would rather learn the harmony instead of me playing it and leaving it in backing tack. Any feedback is much appreciated! Really cool thanks a lot for this great transcription. Do you think Jimmy played this on a 12 string or was it double tracked?

Elsewhere a comment said it was a 12 string guitar tuned to minor thirds instead of unisons.

Yeah chase is wild but so is this one. Managed to get the intro down today but those arpeggios are vicious!

When I listen to the record, I hear two tones one a half semitone lower throughout the whole song under the main riffs in Jimmy's playing, and since Les Paul wasn't given up his effects back then, how do you think he got two tones that sounded like he was playing double stops in those runs as well? Do you think he recorded twice, or is there on off chance he played this on a 12 string?

I’m not certain but it sure sounds like an overdub on the original recording! Jimmy & Speedy were session musicians at Capital records. I know they had the equipment at capital to do overdubs. There are also tunes where he played a Stratosphere Twin guitar, it was a 12 string with pairs of strings tuned to thirds. I read in a magazine that the Tune “Deep Water” is that sound specifically. Hope that helps!
