I absolutely love the moment near the end of the song when Caroline is singing and Jimmy smiles...it's the proud smile of a mentor and of absolute joy at beautiful, meaningful music. You can tell he was totally fulfilled at that moment. This song was already so incredible but that smile just touched a deeper part of my heart. I can't imagine the world going forward without Jimmy Buffett in it, but he left us so much love. Rest in paradise, Jimmy. A legend never dies was never so true.

Oh Wow, so nice the sweet blend of voices! Folks may not realize that this song hints at hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Some of my family (in-laws) were profoundly impacted at the time. They wound up at my home many miles North and West for a couple of months until they could get back to tear out the home interior and rebuild. So why do people go back to a flood-prone area to live again? Has something to do with the idea that the people who live there are family for life, and a bit of the attitude in the song about forgiving the past to move forward. As my Mother-in-law said at the time they arrived at my home, “Well we left everything behind - it’s only stuff, and you can’t take it with ya”. Thankfully, the N.O. Metro area was spared any major impacts this time with T.S. Barry. This is another one they can “move on” from. Btw, Caroline’s life is obviously getting a hefty dose of Americana, and her love for our people is just getting stronger by the tour! Love to ya, Caroline!

I received a double lung transplant on March 22, 2021. While waiting for my match I would listen to this song to get me through the times I thought it would never happen. Now I listen to it to remind me to remain grateful and thankful for this great gift given to me by the organ donor. Thank you to Jimmy also, for writing such a wonderful and inspirational song. I've been a fan since the early 70's and your music has always inspired me. The hurricane didn't kill me dead but it damn sure has made me strong.

Peter Mayer is an pretty underrated guitar player. Mac gets featured a lot on "lead" acoustic in concert live while PM mainly sticks to electric. He friggin rules here on acoustic. And, I gotta say that Jimmy and Caroline Jones blend together very nicely. Beautiful rendition of this great song!
