That's exactly how I felt - that he'd live forever. Being in a tropical band and playing some of his songs, it feels like life will never be the same. I feel like a little happiness might have left the earth - but he WILL live on in our hearts, minds and songs - and I'm pretty sure he's playing some amazing tiki bar in heaven right now 🥰🍹The party's not all over!

I cried like a baby when I saw this video as this song has a particular place in my heart. After hearing how this song saved Jimmy’s life I would say in many ways although different, this song saved my life as well. Many years ago I was quite a different young man when I met this particular girl who was quite different from the rest. We had met a few months earlier but I was resistant to commit even though I knew she was special. I had a trip planned with my buddies to Key West to get away to cut loose a bit during spring break. Having lived in Ft Lauderdale in the 80’s I was introduced to Jimmy Buffet and became I guess you could say, a Parrot Head. Anyway fast forward to my Key West trip I began to realize that the special girl I had been seeing meant so much more to me then I wanted to admit. So much so my heart really began to miss her like no one ever before. Now up to this point we talked about not seeing each other exclusively but I realized that I not only wanted to spend the rest of my life with her but I didn’t want to ever leave her again. So one night while “Come Monday” was playing in the background I decided to call her and tell her my feelings. It was that night told her I would be back early Monday and asked her to “save Monday for me”. Fourteen months later we were married and it is still one of the happiest days of my life but it all started with that lonely night and Jimmy Buffet in the background singing “Come Monday”. Now after 30 years this song still has a special place in our hearts. So much so every time we hear it we say “save Monday for me” my wife with a smile and me with a tear in my eye.

As of right now, no cause of death has been announced, but.. part of the statements from his social pages state - "He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many.” -- Was touching to read that, after my 1st thought upon hearing this shocking passing. I don't follow him super closely, but there was a mention that he had visited the hospital in recent years, but recovered & went on his way making plans with friends as usual.. Bless his sweet soul 💜✨✨✌💕

@@ellamay3816 True that..👍As a songwriter myself, I greatly admire reading the comments from people talking about how a certain musician was apart of so many of their memories, &/or genuinely got them through a hard era of their life.. ❤💜💜 And feel like they've lost a friend, when they pass.. 💕💕 If we all live much longer through the climate crisis, those^^ kinds of things are what I inwardly aspire to. I'm glad you put him up there with those guys because he was honestly a great songwriter. It's kind of hard to beat Sam Stone, but there are so many great songs that poured out of Jimmy, like Come Monday, He Went to Paris, Wonder Why We Ever Go Home, In the Shelter, and Biloxi.

@@opticscolossalandepicvideo4879 thanks for that attempt at mockery. As a musician, who grew up surrounded by other muscians, I listened to some of the greatest record of all time in my youth. Jimmy Buffet was really a decent songwriter and he deserves repect for it. Everybody will remember him, and nobody will remember your internet post.

@@berrybradley6292 fleecing a loyal fan base for decades. Overcharging and overpricing your loyal fan base is unconscionable. He used fans generosity and loyalty as his own private atm for years. A horrid capitalist who toured and entertained for gross profit who ripped off his fans for decades. A horrid legacy. As a fellow human sorry he passed. As an entertainer he was a complete hack who bamboozled and fooled a loyal fan base for decades through overcharging and giving them products they could not afford or need. Quite honestly the most corrupt musician second only to the band kiss for crass commercialism. Just an Awful person who ripped off his fans for decades

How many guys ever came on a talk show and sat there solo, singing two songs in a row like that? No help from the band, just him with his guitar keeping the audience spellbound. Hope you found that lost shaker of salt.

Jimmy's music & lifestyle helped pull me out of a dark place in the 90's. I probably over indulged too much in the boat drinks, but that's just another lesson learned & part of the journey.
