Not all "Terets" are behind bars, some are living, very possibly, not far from you. I was part of a team that looked after one person, who had been released from Rampton on licence. It was decided his human rights had been infringed, he was released with a huge payoff, moved into a new bungalow & the local council pay for his car. He was unpredictable, extremely violent & a danger to children. In Rampton not a single day passed without a violent incident & he was the only person in the UK that could be put in restraints, authorised by the Home Office. He's broken the terms of his licence numerous times, violent incidents described as ferocious attacks, exposing himself to a child & absconding. No recall, no matter what he does & that's because the company in charge of his licence keeps things quiet because of what he's worth to them financially.

I follow Mr samworth and his accounts of his time as an officer - I'm a former inmate many times during the 90s and into the 00s - many vps are exactly as he states - attitude and the belief they're the victims !! - it's hard to imagine any legal firm having the audacity to complain about an inmate and a horrible one too and how he's been spoken to - any screw like Mr samworth would say exactly the same and if teret didn't like it then he shouldn't have booked in this hotel - strangeways isn't supposed to have good room service or soft staff - shame on the legal company even taking it on - who pays for them I wonder because they wouldn't do it for free !! Good work Mr samworth

I was a prison bricklayer for 12 months, I though the prison service were a decent outfit to work for. A sex offener accused me of threatening him and I was suspended so they could protect him 😂. He was a liar by nature and horrible character and proven to be wrong in this instance. But his word was taken as gospel all the way through and it was my job to prove I hadn't. Good thing about prisons they record you movements so I asked him to give a time and date of the offence (prison hadn't bothered t ask that!) He obviously couldn't as would have had to have known exactly where and when I was. The system protects these people and no one asks why.

Good to hear things from the other side of the fence, so to speak. I spent 5 months in Strangeways in the late 60's on the YP wing awaiting allocation to Borstal, Grim Place! as long as you weren't a trouble maker the screws were generally OK. In those days you had to call the screws Sir, or if you came into contact with them a lot Mister Jones/Smith etc. We were kept away from the General inmates for obvious reasons. That was a bad period for me, and after I finished my time in Borstal I kept out of trouble.

I went to prison in 2007 for driving whilst disqualified. I was in HMP Shrewsbury for 6 months and the thing that will stay with me forever is how loud prisons are and how hungry I was! When we were unlocked for association, you’d have 300+ lads shouting from one floor to another etc and I’ll never forget it. And the craving for food that you take for granted. Like a chocolate bar or something! The funniest thing about being in prison though was when crimewatch was on. The whole prison would be silent you could hear a pin drop 😂 it was like religious people watching songs of praise. Crimewatch in prison is a big event. I didn’t go back to jail though it wasn’t for me! Funny thing is I don’t regret going it was part of life experience and I learnt a lot. I have my own business now and im a good boy. Sort of

I asked my friends husband about how he dealt peados & he said, he didn’t read too much detail about their past crimes because it would influence his behaviour on how he treated them. He was on healthcare. Used have some great & interesting conversations. If I had my way, I’d accidentally let the regular prisoners could see to them. I’m pretty sure justice would be done.

I was in Hull prison down block in 1985 86... And across the hall in the cell across was charly bronson, every morning he'd get up around 5am and sing for a hour theses really daft songs, Really child like,.. Singing about woman alot.. With prise, one thing I remember.. I was told never slag off the woman screws because if he hears you he will get you for it.. You treat all woman like lady's.. I was 16 and I was down that block for 3 months, I only got 10 days but the person in there before me had.. Let me set the seen.. In solitary confinement (the block) they have thick cardboard table and chairs painted with thick green gloss paint,. The person before me had a couple of hours on his hands and peeled back a tiny bit of the thick green paint and slowly over hours filled it up with water letting the cardboard soak it up.. This is a soon as I got in my cell so no way in a million years could I of done it... at this point I had bedding clothes table chair, water slop out jug. (toilet) and my head up my ass for having to be in this cell for 2 weeks, I'd also only been in the jail for 2 days,.lol (not the best of starts) I was put down the block for not remembering my number of all things haha.. Lol.. Anyway.. I sat down on the chair and my ass went straight through the seat.g Ffs!! . I moved my ass to the edge so my ass stopped falling through the seat and put my elbow on to the table with my head in my hand in desperation and my elbow went through the table too.. So I rang bell to say look what the last persons done..(stright up grassed bubbled him up..) lol The screw said, I will be up in front of the govner in morning.. Entering the prison they took piss and gave me saize 48 waist Y fronts they where fukin massive,..and now iv got another 2 months down the block with no bedding from 7 am to 7pm..sometimes I didn't get it to really late because it went missing... all my clothes took off me apart from thos massive pants.. Which in the end was a blessing.(ty big pants) . It was freezing down the block I'd sit there on cast iron lats on the bed with my pants over my shoulders and my feet in the legs lol.. God send them pants in end.. Then to top it off I got shifted to the cons block as builders came to put glass in and fix lot up.. I spent the rest of the 5 weeks in the cons block this is where I got woke up every morning by someone who sings like he's got to that age where accidentally sometimes he can sit on a testicle... Lol.. Yep sounds like that... Lol have a good day all.. And I hope they don't treat kids like that anymore... Ps grassing doesn't pay.. Lol.. 2 months ffs. At 16 that's like 9 months now I'm 53,. Imagine now 9 months in a freezing cold cell with only a pair of underpants.. Madness.. Saying this tho it was better than living with my nonce dad.. There's a best seller book out.. Its be en out for a good 15 years.. I'm Graham in it.. The books called Life Backwards by Stuart Shorter he was my co-accused Rip stu x

Sam, in about 78/79, I was out the the then Girlfriend and we popped in to a Chinese Takeaway in Sandhurst, which is approximately, 2,5 miles from Broadmoor. Whilst waiting for our order in walks Savile and his driver, I would only guess it was him. My Ex said the way looked at here gave her the creeps. I then a few years later became friendly with a Warder at Broadmoor in the 80's who has passed now, he said it was well known Saville was a Nonce

I’ve seen many jails in the UK , spent 12 years in her majesty’s. 95% of the screws are OK especially those working in gym . I was a gym orderly at Woodhill for a year , got to know the screws in the gym quite well and had a laugh everyday . I wouldn’t do their job it’s a depressing environment and they have to deal with some proper shit people especially those on the bacons wing .

That Saville must've been of royal blood. Free range of Buckingham Palace and no way on Earth MI5 didn't know what he was upto. Protected to the grave the filth. Hauled in over the Yorkshire ripper murders and stayed friends with Sutcliffe for life. Ol Saville called him mum "THE DUCHESS" which is super strange. Was she the bastard child of a royal? The work of Thomas Sheridan is very interesting on everything Saville.

I had a strange incident years ago when a prison wanted to wear his tie to a legal visit. He was high risk prisoner and had stalked and murdered his ex wife. I told him he didn’t need to wear his tie. Argument ensued, he was about 6ft 7in. But he couldn’t intimidate me, and wasn’t going to try and bully me due to his superior size. Eventually my SO let him have his tie, the sheer arrogance of the man. Probably use to bullying people his whole life. He got away with a short sentence for manslaughter. He strangled his ex wife FFS!

My lovely ex husband is a prison officer who initially worked at Pentridge Prison in Melbourne, then at Port Phillip Prison and now doing the same in New South Wales. It is not an easy job, and he became a germaphobe from the job. Took no crap from anyone but there were some he really hated but never showed it to them.

New recruit to yer channel: Saw yer interview with Shaun Attwood. Good stuff. Just realised you have yer own podcast.👍 If every screw was like you the jails wouldn't be in the state they are? I've done my time. ( Low Moss, Bar and Shotts) Last sentence of 5yr (intent to supply) ended March 2007...🤞 Young screws were hard work? Old screws just counting the days! But guys like yerself keep the wheels turning in there. The relationship between con n screw has changed so much. It's a difficult thing to get the balance right. A hall depends on that balance. Problem that jails screws n cons have is from the top brass/govt/pen pushers and what they think should be done in there. Anyways have subscribed so look forward to checking in. Cheers. Don.

Enjoyed the video. I often wonder how many have escaped prison because they had money and a good barrister. I think if Savile had ever faced trial he'd have had the best legal representation it was possible to get. Defending him would be the making of any barrister's career.

The funniest answer on a TV quiz I've ever seen. It happened about 15 years on 'The Weakest Link', and went like this ... Anne Robinson: 'What breakfast food is also a slang term for a period spent in prison ?' Contestant: 'Cheerios' I still makes me laugh to this day
