FIRST 48 HOURS Living in a Skoolie | FULL TIME BUS LIFE

We just spent our FIRST 48 HOURS living full-time in our skoolie conversion!
The 48 hours start at 2pm, when we leave the place we've been calling home (and the workshop) for good. In the spirit of being adventurous, we decided last minute to visit a peach stand on the way, only to find out that we missed the season by about a week... We still got a look around the peach orchard though!
We manage to squeeze in a quick hike with some pretty spectacular views. Thanks to the new (to us, anyway) flexibility of #vanlife we were able to hike during non-peak hours and have the summit to ourselves!
For our first night, we slept at a truck stop and took our first showers in the bus! After filling up on diesel, we're back on the road and headed to our first booked campsite at Table Rock State Park in SC
At Table Rock, we enjoy a lakeside picnic, friendly neighbors, star gazing, and even make use of our inflatable kayaks.
Finally, to close out the first 48 hours of full time #buslife, we drive to our next camping spot which is a Walmart parking lot. It seemed like a rite of passage, but hopefully we can find some dispersed camping spots in the future. All things considered, our first week living in a bus is seriously off to a great start!
We are super excited to announce our first Q&A video, coming very soon! Make sure to post any questions you want answered in the comments section of this video!
Thanks so much for watching!

Congrats on hitting the road! Relax and enjoy the ride!! My questions: - You mentioned in this video that you are not working full time... do you have part time or work-from-home/Bus jobs that you'll be doing? - How long are you planning to be full-timing in the bus and do you think that the bus (or another rig) would be in your life long term? Regardless of whether you use my questions, I wanted to give you guys HUGE congratulations at finishing your build and to taking the leap out onto the road!! WHOOO HOOOOOO!!!!!

Good luck guys! Just remember it wont be all peach’s and cream. Dont let adversity get you down. I did notice the lack of planning ahead for places to stay. You will really need to plan ahead because you are doing what many do and they want those prime spots as well. I learned a lot form. Fuel prices will probably cut that driving down.

Natalie, are you kidding me? Car sick and you're embarking on a road trip journey!!! I hope that it is a short-lived sickness. You may have to figure out a way to be buckled in, a lot closer to Jimmy. Excited to finally see you live out your dreams. The joy is in the journey and take time to stop and smell the roses...or peaches. Continue to watch Number Juan Bus YT channel for inspiration on finding places to adventure. May the Lord watch over you and protect you both.

Natalie, There are wrist bands you can get for car sickness. Check pharmacies. They are cheap and work very well. We bought some for each car. Once, my wife and my daughter got car sick and each took 1 band and both were fine. It applies pressure just below the wrist in the center, try it with your thumb, you should get instant relief.

All skoolie folks seem to be inspired by fellow skoolie folks. Who was your biggest inspiration in the skoolie community to live this lifestyle and why? Are they the same people who may have inspired some of the decisions you made in your build? If so, what aspects or choices did they inspire? Feel free to name more than one! Maybe each of you can share your personal top three. Congratulations, again, to the completion of your bus and stepping out of the box to live this lifestyle! 🥳 I can only imagine the culture shock you are going through as you adjust to the idea of having no chains that bind you to one static location. I don't think it's something that a lot of people consider when they decide to do this. It does take some guts. 💪

Natalie! I’ve recently discovered a motion sickness hack… electrical tape. All my father’s family are fishermen and you can get expensive motion sickness patches for behind your ear…. Or stick a piece of electrical tape behind your ear. It totally works. I get sick just being in the car and it works for me! Try to get a little corner actually in the crook of your ear. I think it’s a pressure point but it works 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Going forward, will you be mapping out an itinerary for the week or month ( where you want to go, stops in between, where to boondock etc.) 2. The shower looked pretty narrow when you built it, how does it feel? Would you do anything differently? How did the sliding toilet make out? 3. Finally, how did the TV fare and did you watch less TV than normally in this 48 hour period? Did your cell service and wifi work? Natalie, you are a brave woman! There is not way in the world that I could stand on that rock! I was scared looking down and I am sitting on my steps, safely drinking my coke, and saying Wow! P.S. When is the wedding??? Did you know ginger is good for car sickness. Ginger cordial, here in Australia we have ginger jelly bears. They work for me. The stronger the ginger the better. Best of luck with travelling.

May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand. May God be with you and bless you: May you see your children's children. May you be poor in misfortune, Rich in blessings. May you know nothing but happiness From this day forward. May the road rise up to meet you May the wind be always at your back May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home And may the hand of a friend always be near. May green be the grass you walk on, May blue be the skies above you, May pure be the joys that surround you, May true be the hearts that love you

Don't know why I got this two days late but it maybe due to being subscribed to over 100 channels ? But OMG your fellow Missourians ! Table Rock Lake is my Favorite ! We use to go every August for a week before the kids went back to School. Would always stay between Indian Point and Kimberling City, Deepest, clearest water I've seen inland ! Glad I found your channel a couple of weeks ago. Looking forward to your travels. ✌️💜🎸 From STL

We were visiting Table Rock in South Carolina, but we’ll have to check out Table Rock Lake in Missouri and see which one we like better! 😄 It sounds like something we wouldn’t want to miss!

Hello Jimmy and Natalie. I just found y'all's Channel have been watching it today. I too am a nomad camper and I enjoy watching these kinds of videos. Best thing I like about you guys so far is it you're totally is it and just finding it out. I'm in my second year and I've been car camping living in a tent my car took a dump and now I'm waiting on a Ford Explorer 4 by 4. A long way from catching up to all your videos that is what I'm going to be doing. Best of luck to you hopefully we'll meet someday. This is truly a wonderful life and I enjoy it immensely. Good and safe I'll finish watching your videos until I catch up as long as you keep making them I will keep watching them. My name is Larry and I'm very happy to meet you.

I'm excited to watch this adventure! Question for the Q&A: What are your insurance rates like for the bus? Is it similar to what it would be for an RV? Cheers! - Clifton (former Scout-mate Troop 132 😄)

I thought I recognized that channel name! 👋👋 Hope you’re doing well! ⚜️ And good question! I’m excited to see what others have to say when we share our solution to this one because I’m sure we could learn a few things about how to get it better & cheaper.

You two are so cool. What an incredible journey. I was thinking a kid put the pebble in the mushroom. 😆 Are you all monetized yet? If you make an all video play list I'm sure we can binge watch them all . Also saw yor Amazon link. Great job clicked on one to give that extra boost. We are starting our build in December for our Overlander Box Van Chassis Conversion Camper. It will be our mobile HQ when we start filming the documentary. Thanks for sharing 👍
