Drivers would get in their practise very early in the morning to minimize traffic. Many people at that time still used horses and wagons for their daily activities; it'd be one hell of a sight for a 908/03 or Alfa 33 to whip past you on those treacherous roads.

As someone that dedicated his final years of simracing (more or less) to learning THE most challenging circuit out there, it's an honour to be mentioned & referenced in this video! For anyone that wants to learn Targa, know that it takes about 60 completed laps to know where you're going (I believe Vic Elford said that, and it was almost exact for me), but I promise the reward of knowing where you are and what's coming up is SO worth it. Thanks again, Jimmer, I love you :).

One name that should be remembered with regards to the Targa Florio - Vic Elford. This guy was a Targa specialist, and apparently he was blessed with a photographic memory. One time, when he had to drive a distinctly underpowered and outdated Porsche, he was as much as an hour behind the leaders when it came to his driving stint, and he used all that knowledge of the circuit to such a devastating effect that he actually ended up winning the thing. To commemorate their race wins, Porsche would usually issue special edition posters featuring a picture of the winning car of a race, but that time the poster didn't feature the car. Instead it consisted of Elford and a few Porsche mechanics just after completing the race, grinning from ear to ear. The reason given by Porsche why they featured Vic instead of the car was that it wasn't so much the car that won the race, but rather the driver.

Jimmer, you should do the Grande Circuit. That configuration is 144.8 kilometers long. Probably lucky if you can get around in under 100 minutes-2 hours. Another thing you should do, is do an 1886 Mercedes-Benz Patent Motor Wagen around the Norschleife in GT4. Oh yeah, love your stuff. You are the reason I am saving up to be a sim racer. Just watching you fly around the Nurburgring in a multitude of different vehicles, in a multitude of different respective categories of car, was so inspiring. You make great content, and deserve the 200,000 subscribers. Keep on going, Jimmer BoJack Horsemack BoBimmer.

So happy for you man, been going back through a bunch of your older vids, some I've already watched, some I havent. But to see how far you have come, not just in the growth of your channel but your personal growth. Obviously to an extent they go hand in hand, but seeing this as 200k sub celebration, only a year ago, and now being over 350k on your way to 400k, it's amazing. You deserve every bit of it man. I've been subscribed for a few years now and seeing the dedication you've put in over those years is astounding. You've helped not just myself but so many others with their own mental health by being so open about your own battles. I'm certainly still in struggle town, but having this channel to come to and being able to converse with the amazing community you've built definitely gets me through some rough times. Thank you, for everything you do. Regards, Loyal Shed Basement Dweller

21:05 (ish) If you end up doing this, it would be absolutely bonkers cool if you could set up a camera and treat it like a normal live stream (even if it's only a recording) where you talk to the viewers/the camera as you go around, explain what you're doing, how you feel, why the pleb behind crashed into you, etc. I understand this would be difficult/impossible at first, but maybe after a while once you get comfortable in the seat. It would be an insight we don't really have in the racing world outside of sims.

You are a magnificent driver and it's always thrilling to watch your more intense content, but I think the reason we stick around for you is because you have a very good balance between inspiring driving skills and a genuine and inviting personality. You have very openly and honestly showed us your personal growth, and I think that has made sim racing feel more accessible and like it's something worth getting into. I think you are an above average driver which is good. It's nice to watch someone drive who you can learn from since they aren't lightyears ahead of you. I like sitting here and trying to watch every corner and try to see how I would take them.

Rolling back to this video 2 years down the road it is great to see how many of your dreams came to become reality, and also that no one has had to tell you "F*** Off you shallow KZfaqr". Kept it real, and and keep it spinning in circles whilst laughing.

Late to the vid but I hope you see this. Ayrton senna said something along the lines of “go karts are the purest form of racing”, although cars would be fun you get more a bang for your buck racing karts. You get wheel to wheel with other drivers and although it is perceived as basic they allow you to fully comprehend set up/race mechanics and physics. I’ve been racing karts for 10 years now and I can say it has given me some of my greatest memories and friends and I would love to see you create a series showing your Journey.

Jimmy, the reason why your channel struck a cord in me is the place where you come from. No, not physically, I mean mentally. Mental issues are somewhat frowned upon in my family. Growing up, if you had something wrong in your head, it was all just in your head, just make the bad demons go away and you'll be fine. Obviously, it doesn't work that way, and I learned it first-hand, I didn't have any really bad mental issues, but I can relate to you. Obviously, Jimmy doesn't show all the stuff in his life, but the things he has talked about having anxiety in public and depression have been fairly relatable, and i have went through the same things, albeit, at a less severe way. I love his passion for motorsport, and the genuinity he has in his videos, there are no fake personas, no fake emotions, no fake feelings. He's just a regular lad living in his moms shed sharing his passion of motorsport and actually succeeding at it, because guess what, he has a great personality. I found his channel at around 10k subs, I remember all the GT1-5 streams he did, I remember him hitting first 1000 livestream viewers on one of his GT videos and him going absolutely bonkers. I remember that and it inspires me that there are people who can get up from the very bottom and make a name of themselves in this world. I don't believe in miracles, but this certainly gets close to it.

This reminds me of the Isle of Man's TT mountain circuit in terms of length (37.73 miles - not as long as Targa Florio) , scenery and going through narrow villages and stuff, Kirk Michael being one of them and Parliament Square in Ramsey being another, hitting the houses or coming off your bike in those sections of the circuit often resulted in death or serious injury, so yeah this circuit is similar even though you have 4 wheels as opposed to 2.

Cool that someone is making this track for AC. I did a video of driving this in GT Legends about 5 years ago. I almost completed a lap but the last straight didn't have a barricade at where I was supposed to turn off and just looked like it kept going straight so I hit an invisible wall and totaled my Ferrari 365. The best thing about the circuit is the scenery though so without that it's not so great.
