@@GreenBlueWalkthroughbecause most people don’t. Figurínu out how to start the engine is pretty intuitive in a car, not so much in any fighter jet or airliner. Starting the engines can be a 20+ step process, plus preflight checks that you must do to insure you won’t die.

@@petrnedved5297 And you wonder why most people throw out cars after 4 years... Which it depends on the plane and what time you have... Like an LSA is less then 5 steps but a 1960s airliner is insanity and you need more then 2 people to do it right... Regardless all DCS aircraft can be started well under a dozen steps and honestly if you know what your doing you can figure it out. What is truly tricky about Airplanes is what to look at not what order to do them as it's mostly the same... Not to mention the new planes with "Airplane go button's" Also no DCS I've read is nearly as good as the one featured in this video as they don't normally say how to use the craft insim which for someone like me is the only time I need a manuel for a flight sim... Like my first experince with the free and Flaming cliffs aircraft was made much harder then it should have been because they are ripped from real manuels or Wikipedia with a fewexceptionss like the free frogfoot which to it's credit has some sim controls in it and the Apache which has a peice on George... Otherwise if you come from other sims, games or have researched the craft or just know combat aviation the DCS manuals are completely useless to you.

7:38 You can restart the real current F1 cars with MGU-K too. One of the earliest well-known examples was Sainz at the 2016 Malaysian GP, who stalled on the grid and was able to restart using MGU-K (there's a story on Autosport about it). There are a few other examples with onboard video (e.g. Vettel in Austria 2020 after getting his car called to the weigh bridge and Kimi at Melbourne in 2017).

It makes Liam Lawson's first weekend in F1 a little bit more impressive when you realise he's got to adjust to this from his regular super formula ride, which is no doubt just as complex but completely different.

I will be able to die at peace once someone creates an 'official' F1 game that has proper simracing handling, physics, better AI (though I'd say the current F1 games are at the very least better than Assetto Corsa's default AI for the built-in tracks lol), and a higher depth of control over cars and strategy. The day we get an F1 game with cars that are like the VRC Formula Alpha with handling as good as AMS2 or iRacing, with laserscanned tracks - will be the day of reckoning, for sure.

yeah aggresive throttle setting + low speed corner exit probably not a good combination. You have basically no downforce at those speeds, so with the throttle being that aggressive, you're just going to end up spinning the rear wheels because you don't have the traction to put down that much power. Probably need to go with a much less aggressive throttle, and adjust your corner exit differential for those slow speed corners. It is crazy that drivers are able to adjust all that stuff during the lap, sometimes adjusting settings per corner. There's a video of Alonso doing exactly that at Bahrain in Qualifying. When you realize the sheer amount of things that they can actually tweak and optimize to produce the lap times they do IRL, you realize why they have a whole team of people both at the track and back at the factory working to figure all of this stuff out. I knew basically nothing about cars when I first started sim racing, and pursuing faster lap-times has taught me so much about how cars work, the physics of vehicle dynamics, and what all of those various different setup variables actually do. That being said, I certainly haven't figured everything out and those Formula Alpha cars introduced entire aspects of car optimization id never even seen or considered before. Its definitely is super overwhelming at first, but I've just been gradually figuring it out as I go.

No, YOU aret he nerd! ;)The best gaming experiences I had over the years required hours, days, sometimes even weeks to setup properly. It's always worth it. (stalker, arma, rbr, ini tweaks, local coop, modded content in general)

Jimmer, if you think this is bad and you want to have a panic attack and meltdown, just know there's full on airliner stuff that consists of: Manual, QRH (which is basically a quick handbook but is just as many pages), checklists, flight plans, and then you got on top of all that systems documentation and procedures and charts. 18 pages for a race car is nice and light reading compared to DCS or PMDG or Falcon 4.0 manual level of wordage, or, as I call it...enough to beat someone into submission with ink and lettters. Falcon 4.0 is a solid brick of a manual. PMDG is a shitload of pages but spread across many many things

Us nerds do be nerding. I feel your struggle though, I was diagnosed NVLD. So, I nerd out over something, throw the manual in the corner, go rabid on it and then refer back to the manual when I want to fully understand something or have to unf#%k something. Mainly because I get too excited to read the manual right away and have probably been researching/learning about whatever it is, for the past 3 weeks/months (depending on complexity/barriers/etc...) anyhow. Freaks people right out when I just start assembling Ikea furniture without instructions and they keep asking where the instructions are. 9 times out of 10, I've built whatever it is before they find the manual and I only end up needing it for the weird bit I've never run into or to differentiate screw sizes, however in recent years manuals have been quite useless for that. Anyhow, here's a long comment. Thanks for the video!
