pre load the shock in the rear so that the spring is held in place before you put the car on the ground. i had that same issue on my E36

Early model e30 = higher rear arches. Just gotta full send no adjusters in the rear. Love this car so much.

E30 is so sick. I'm a new sub on your channel and the e30 is what brought me here. E30s are my favorite car ever. Driven some super cars. C7 corvettes. Supercharged e90 m3, e60 m5, ect and for some reason I just feel so at home in the e30. Such a perfect chassis and all around car of u ask me. Even the m20.. actually a pretty reliable motor.

Drill a hole thru the bumper shocks so it goes further in, so it gets a slimmer style bumper on the rear and the front

You can cut the bottom of the coilover threaded part off a little. The bit that threads into the standard strut bottom im 90% sure. Makes the shock way shorter and spring tighter

Definitely keep the chrome plate, just for the flex. Run the meshes for the daily drive and just use the volks for the rears.

E brake off and throw sand bags over night in the trunk for it to settle. Front end has massive motor over coils so itll be lower for sure

Jimmy built his e30 in a 2 months meanwhile I’m here dealing with stripped rusted bolts, and threads that need re-threading on mine.

Roll the car forward a couple meters, ideally run it over something (broom handle etc.) To settle the suspension. Mine always does the same thing when i lower the it back down.

It's cause you need a true coil over set up in the rear. The ones you have now aren't meant to go that low and it has a longer shock body

Rear shock length!! I had this with my accord wagon (tsx wagon to you guys) and my BC's. Turns out my shocks were too long and was holding it up.

E30 early models have high rear arches, it's really hard to get them sitting right. Tuck those bumpers too! drill out the shocks and push them in, makes them look way less like diving boards.

Totally dig the meshes

Early model e30s have a higher arch than late models making them tricky to slam. I have a 5” spring and the rear shock is adjusted to the lowest portion and I’m tucking half of the tire on 15”. The preload will be whack but it’s something you can do until you get 3-4” springs

Release the handbrake and roll it a tiny bit, the rear will come down a ton. The ebrake locks the control arms when the car is raised on a lot of BMWs.

The mesh wheels looks great.. would say you should find 2 matching sets so that your front and rear wheels ar the same all the time

I heard the type 1 e30 (crome bumpers) has a different rear fender than a type 2 (plastic bumper) it might not look that low bus it still is. Dont slam it to much or you are almost forced to mofify the rear subframe becouse of the camber gain
