Nelson Kite festival 2019 - Saturday fun fly

My 1,322nd kite video. This year is the 29th Nelson Kite Festival, one of New Zealand's biggest and best such events, organised by Ted and Gretchen Howard and supported by members of the New Zealand Kitefliers Association. Saturday is a "fun fly" before the public event on Sunday, but with bad winds forecast for Sunday, everyone tried to fly as much as possible in Saturday's better conditions.

I wish we had stuff like this in Arizona. I'd have to travel somewhere to see a show like this. Great videos Jim! I'll never get tired of watching them!

Wonderful video of the kites Jim. Love that view of the whole sky full from behind. Envious of Simon's new Ray. I did like the selection of Deltas . Glad you didn't get caught up in that "death spiral". Poor lady with her baby , she was in the wrong place I think. Pleased no harm.

Beautiful! I love the dragons, the whales and the koi!. I have a few 'designs' that I've sketched that I would one day love to see in the air.

Wonderful !!! the accident with the snake kite was a bit scary ... I hope you had the nice "Next" day. Here in my part of Canada. Its -20 Degree C

Great video! I noticed two smaller dragons behind the larger PLK Dragons. Are those new mini/micro PLK drangons?

Quite brilliant. I can sympathise with the flyer who's pilot went or a wander. One of my trilobites did the same and it's a real pain chasing after a large wayward kite! Looked like a great day. I've never "done" a festival, looks good fun. Being a regular visitor to the Canary Islands I always fancied the one held on Fuerteventura, maybe I'll get to it one year....
