Personally Jin’s voice holds a special place for me, especially in Epiphany- “you are the one you should love”. All of his solo songs scream deep meaningful message that I resonate with. I love hearing their Japanese songs because of Jin ballad styles. Jin really work extra hard to polish his voice to be where it is right now. He is talented af. Like RM said Jin is BTS secret weapon. I want him to explore some rock songs somehow I think I can work.

A vocal teacher that I like mentioned that Jin is the glue of vocal line. His voice is chamaleonic in order to blend and harmonize with the rest of BTS.

coming from a jin bias, and someone who's been listening to them for almost 9 years now. jin's voice, along with everyone else, brings so much balance to bts' vocals. him and jungkook have one of the most stable live vocals in the group. and i'd say jin balances taehyung's vocals A LOT. which brings so much character in a bts song. you can hear their harmony in even i die, it's you and other songs (and i think jungkook's vocals matches a lot with jimin's. again, you can see this in their songs. take a listen at the structure of their songs, one verse it's jimin and jungkook singing different lines and then the verse after the chorus, it's taehyung and jin singing after one another). i've said this before and im gonna say it again, and a lot of people have also said this already, including the members. bts won't be bts with one member being left out, and i think that applies to every aspect that bts could offer. jin is not only the oldest hyung, the caretaker of the group, or the funniest member in the group. he's important to bts' vocals, just like the other 3 because he-like jungkook, taehyung, jimin, hoseok, yoongi, and namjoon-brings character, identity, story, style, color, emotion, and overall completes the sound of bts... that makes it sound like bts.

The first member to ever make me cry is Jin. He and his songs hold a very special place in my heart. This video is an accurate representation of why we're so proud of him as an artist and even as a human. I had a rollercoaster ride of emotions watching this, cried as soon as Awake began. Epiphany is the song that sparks my interest in BTS. Before that I always hear their songs because my 3 teenage daughters were fan of them but I don't really pay attention. The line in epiphany that caught my attention was I'm the one I should love in this world. It just hit straight to my 💜. I love that all the 4 vocalists have different sound and different style. It makes them so special.

As a musician, I will explain that the four BTS vocals are the classic scheme in harmony - ANY melody can be performed with them because their voices allow it. This gives incredible freedom to composers who can create without limitations. Exactly the same richness of composition we see in Fake Love - for this reason, for me as a musician studying harmony, polyphony and solfege, this song is revolutionary and will remain in the music industry. Adding the three completely different style rappers who add unique rap parts to the songs - we get the perfect combination! For this reason, to me, destroying this perfection from a musical point of view is a CRIME!

I’m very late to this video but I love that you refer to his vocals as classical. I’ve always thought there’s something very romantic in his vocal style, that he’s so good at expressing intense emotion but still keeping a level of restraint and subtlety. I think his talent and training as an actor really shines in his performance style and adds a wonderful layer to his songs. There’s also a melancholy quality to his voice that adds a lot of depth to happy, upbeat songs, like Permission to Dance. His line is my favorite part of that song because I feel like when he sings “you don’t need to worry” I can feel the weight of the worry in his voice, even though he sounds happy, there is some sadness mixed into it that makes the emotion hit harder. I know you didn’t discuss cover songs because you’re focused on his solos here, but Autumn Outside the Post Office is one of my favorite covers ever- such an amazing example of the classical vocal style you mentioned. He sings that song so powerfully. Anyway thank you for this wonderful video (sorry I’m a year late 😂)

I like to relate the concept of silver voice to “angel voice”. It’s a voice that transmits in such a soft and beautiful way no matter the concept/genre, one that can bring strong emotions only with its tone, yet those strong emotions are being slowly processed/ because you unconsciously still want to keep focusing on listening to the melody. Just like angels, they’re powerful and beautiful creatures who could cause any type of emotion in you yet at their appearance you can only stare and temporarily shut down said emotions for one purpose: admire them. After they disappear, your feelings start flowing and that’s the moment when you also have a realization about yourself or the meaning behind the song. Don’t know if my describing made sense, but that’s how I feel with Jin’s voice. He’s really an amazing singer and I’m so happy he’s getting the recognition he deserves

Excellent video. I'm still amazed how he started at 19 learning to sing when his vocal chords have mostly finished settling, which is why they usually start training singers so young. It's been an uphill battle, but watching his carrer is like watching an episode of Burn Notice. His cleaverness and determination to survive gets him though every obstacle, and this will no doubt help him both professionally AND during his military service. Oh Hell, watching anything BTS has done the past 10 years is like Burn Notice.

I am not an expert, however Jin sounded like an expert to me. His voice was that of an angel. How could this man stand and sing in front of 50, 000 people and get a standing ovation and be amazing without being extraordinary as an vocal artist. Who else can go from never singing or dancing to being part of the best group in the world with out being the best himself. And as usual Boracity gives me the deepest insight of every song. Believe me i watches bts contents a lot and hear many songs but only Jin can bring out so many emotions out of me. Awake for one, after yrs of hearing it still my most played song. Supertuns after a yr still brings happy vibes and The Astronaut now brings totally mixed emotions, like sadness and triumph. I love u jin u are the best vocalist.

It would irk me so much that not just non fans but even some army's would put Jin down or make this notion about him for not being the member with most contributions but what these people fail to realize is that BTS is a unit that brings 7 very different and individual talents and blends them into this almost perfect mix. Often when I think about what would BTS be like without any of them, I just cannot comprehend because every single member brings a component to the team that ends up becoming a pillar for their support. And Jin is also like that. I saw it somewhere days ago where there was this unpopular opinion that Jin and Yoongi's solo songs are the most liked (and while I am not putting the other solos down) I think it is true. When I was in the process of becoming a fan, Jin's songs attracted me the most and I still listen to them constantly compared to other solos. They have this quality of comfort to them which feels so reassuring just like how Jin's presence is for us. It is reflected in his music and he is such an asset. Jin has this quality to him where he remains consistent and improves and suddenly hits fans with the realization of his slow growth and improvement like this warm spring where you can see the slow blooming of flowers. And now that I am writing this I am realizing just how much I value Jin for being there and providing us not just with his amazing vocals and musicality but also with a lot of valuable life lessons. He truly is a role model in every sense not just for us but also for his members, and I think all that BTS is and how they have grown, a huge credit lies with Jin for being their supportive hyung and the silent but strengthening pillar of the team.

Jin's voice makes me want to cry. Its the first time one artist has done that consistently, its been 4 years and its still true. I actually avoided a lot of songs because of that. I love almost all the solos from the vocal line but something about Jin's solos hits different. Everytime I hear epiphany , yours, abyss and the astronaut, I feel so emotional and is a feeling that I don't feel by the other members' solos. I just think Jin's unique voice carries emotion and passion like no other and I am thankful people are starting to realise it. Btw thanks for the awesome video💞

Let me tell yall before becoming an Army i had a friend (she is still my friend but we're not as close as we used to be ) so she introduced BTS to me her bais was jin so she sended me alot of audios of BTS songs that she downloaded and told me that's jins song and one of the very first songs i listened of BTS was "moon " i really liked the song and thus i started getting into BTS discography...so i proudly say jins moon played a great role in making me army. When I listened epiphany and tonight i legit cried he have such a beautiful voice and he sings emotionally we can feel it. When I first heard abyss i was already going through a very hard time and without even reading the lyrics the song made me sad . Now that i am not that much into BTS as they say i have healed and i think it's time to leave this magic shop i still say and will say Jin is my biggest inspiration as he started from nothing. I am learning songwriting and he will forever be like a big brother to me ❤️

Jin can emotionally grip you with his soulful vocals. He is one of the few artists I’ve cried to as well as his notes soothes my soul literally. His talent is still untapped. I just hope he finds the right producers and songs for his solo post-enlistment album and I really hope this man becomes truly confident in his vocals and acting talents because he is too humble I swear and literally puts himself down without reason and I HATE IT 💜🐳

This video left me with tears in my eyes, listening and reading the sequence of several of his songs sequentially was very moving. I love the 7, and I have several reasons to love them beyond pure talent, sincerity and true charisma, but Jin is my bias because besides admiring the simple way in which he sees/leads life, I find him extremely genuine and courageous, the way he talks openly about his insecurities and vulnerabilities, without letting himself be dazzled by being part of the biggest group in the world nowadays, because it would be very easy for him to dress up a character and pretend to be someone always super confident. His sincerity about these subjects caught my attention, even more so these days when most people have enough tools to show a perfectly manufactured life on social media. My respect and affection for him increased a lot.

I doubt you would find an ARMY who has underrated Jin's beautiful voice. His tone is beautiful, he switches easily and mixes the best can be done. His enunciation is clear, and he plays the emotions of every song to perfection. Jin's a crooner. I love his voice and all his songs. All the differences you mention blend together is unique and harmonious way in each BTS song! At 68 yrs of age and someone who has had music in their life literally since birth, No one has ever been as good as BTS. They are really the only pop group I listen to . ( theater and classical is what I group up hearing and continued to listen to. ) This new solo with Cold play , and Moon are so good, I find it hard to believe Moon didn't win a single solo award. It's kinda ridiculous.

Jin's vocals has captured me since I listened to Epiphany. I loved his voice whenever I listen to the Japanese songs. Really one of a kind singer and he deserves to be recognized more for his honey singing

Now that Jin has explained on his Buenos Aires Vlive what the members endured in 2020 because of the pandemic shutdown and also seen in the context that no one knew the “BTS Law” would pass four days before the release of Abyss on his birthday which gave qualified idols a two year extension. Abyss obviously represents the emotional turmoil he was going through from cancelled tours and delayed enlistment. It’s quite a story within the bigger story of BTS.

I agree with your thought about K-pop "lines," especially as BTS cross those lines alllllll over the place. Still, I think Jin's "visual" contributions are not to be discounted-- his acting ability, and the role he's had as the first main character of the BU, do contribute a lot to the impact of BTS's videos. When it comes to vocals, though, the man has undeniably put in the WORK. His vocal quality and his range are both stellar, and I LOVE that BTS's singers all have such distinct vocal types and qualities. And yes, ballads are his forte, but let's not forget that that killer rock scream in Dionysus was ALSO Jin. And let's not discount his dancing, either. He initially surprised Hobi with his level of dedication to practice, and he's always wins the "what dance is this?" challenges in Run BTS *because* he works at it so hard. (And seriously, I know a lot of the focus in Black Swan is on Jimin, but have you SEEN Jin in Black Swan??) When it comes down to it, though, the most beautiful thing to me about Jin is his heart. He cares for everyone in his orbit, and he teaches ARMY self-confidence and how to take joy in life. And although h says he only wants to show ARMY positive things, when it comes to his music, he never holds back. He shows us *everything* in his heart. Speaking as a fellow introvert, that takes *tremendous* courage and trust, but he does it for us.

Jin is BTS’s secret weapon. When I was a baby ARMY I didn’t give much attention to Jin and didn’t expect anything from him but when I actually opened my eyes and saw his raw talent I was so amazed, he’s full of surprises and works so hard.

His choice of cover songs also reflects his personal style and things he wishes to express as well. I am amazed by how you take a topic and clearly explain it. Personally, it's like you take what I understand deep within but can't express or didn't realize needed expressing and so effortlessly map it out in a neat way. Of course, it's a lot of hard work on your end but you do it so well and it's so thought out. What a blessing your videos are!

Every member of Bangtan is a precious jewel… And ARMY is the jewellery box… We will endure, fight and overcome all the hate, criticism and the negative things. And will never make Bangtan doubt themselves, their value. Because without them… we are just an empty box... They are 7 different personalities, 7 different emotions, 7 colours of rainbow... In BTS’s new song Take Two, Jin’s vocals are incredible. To me, his voice really stands out.

Thank you for this video - finally, someone else who believes that it is seriously problematic that Jin is still officially a "subvocalist"! What else does he have to do to prove himself?! And it's not just in the music that he I could not agree with you more that Jin is woefully underrated (some people don't seem to understand what the word means) and un(der)appreciated by some ARMYs, which I find both distressing and infuriating. His vocals are consistently praised by music critics, he sings with an intensity and a sincerity that is unmatched, and the emotional impact doubles when he pours his soul out in live performances. Sadly, though, no one sings with that much emotion unless they have experienced pain. Jin has said that he can only sing what he knows about, and his songs reveal that the self-doubt and insecurities are still with him. Even Moon, despite its upbeat vibe, expresses a fear that if he were to reveal his dark side and his scars, he wouldn't be loved. It's why he always presents himself as cheerful and fun-loving. I think it would go a long way towards diminishing that fear and increasing his sense of self-worth if HYBE would FINALLY give him the recognition that he deserves. It's been 10 years, for crying out loud!

I absolutely adore Jin's tracks. They are indescribably touching and beautiful- and fun! (chuckles in supertuna). His music and vibes are really up my alley, along with RM's and V's. And his singing is simply delightful

Jin's voice and expression is golden. I can hardly listen to his solo songs without crying, because his emotions is expressed with sincerity and warmth. That is the strength of his voice. He can touch people. That is unusual. Jimin has the same autenticity in his expression, but his tone is more angelic and fragile. Jungkook's voice is skilled and engaging while Taehyung's is soulful, jazzy. And then we have the raps of the others and Yoongis surprisingly softness when he sings. Together they are unbeatable, diamonds. 🥰💜 I love their soulful artistry and they are all wonderful solo artists, but together they are more... 💜🇸🇪

As Jin bias, I agreed with some parts and disagreed with others. In my opinion, what Jin's voice brings to BTS is not only "classical beautiful sound". I think that Seokjin's strong side as a vocalist, which unites all his work as a BTS member and soloist, is actually the ability to portray emotions with his voice SO well. It's like he is ACTING out emotions with his voice. This is the most important gift that he brings to the table in all BTS and his own songs. We might not understand words, but we feel emotions that Seokjin portrays STRONGLY. It also explains his discography being so different in a way. The main component was and always is emotions and how WELL he portrays them: self-acceptance, love, loneliness, joy, happiness, and longing. It's what makes Seokjin's voice/music/sound stand out. It's also why his voice is loved in Japan (emotional type of voice) and why Moon was at 5 in the Rolling Stones list of Greatest Boyband Songs (it was selected because it "speaks the language of love". So basically for portraying love so well). I think this 2nd chapter is very interesting so far! We will see a lot of new sides of each member. The Astronaut is just a small glimpse of what we will get a bit later from Seokjin. Moon, Epiphany, Yours, and The Astronaut have a bit of this space and rock vibe, Super Tuna also has a bit of a rock vibe. I think we will see at least 2 components in his full album: space and rock. But we will also see so much more because while he has a preference for the genre (Coldplay is one of his favorite bands for a reason), his songs are mostly centered around emotions. He will get a lot of new experiences while traveling with Wootteo and this might and probably will translate into different new emotionally charged songs. He is known as The Silver Voice for a reason! The Astronaut alone made a mess of my heart, and I still react strongly every time I listen to it (which is daily :)))))). I can actually feel longing and hopefulness in each second of this song. A full album of different songs that are fully charged emotionally by Seokjin? It will either break my brain or heal all my hidden wounds. It's how I see it. It was a fun video to watch anyway! I agree with the connection you made between Abyss and Yours - sounds very possible!

Wow! This is so beautiful. Thank you so much. Got emotional while watching this. For me, Jin is so amazing and I admire him so much. He joined BH with zero singing and dancing. But his deep passion and hardwork paid off. Indeed he brings that musical component that is unique to the group. Aside from being always stable even in live performances and having the technique driven vocals, he gives the most emotions and feelings when singing that all his songs make people cry. This is what makes him different from the rest.

Could not agree more. Actually his songs, especially the Japanese ones, are some of my favorite BTS songs. Everybody loves a beautiful ballad and is always the ones that gets everybody to cry ( eventhough nobody will admit to it ). I actually see a big future for him, because these kind of songs often cater to an older more mature audience.

I feel like Jin voice is so special tone. His falsetto resonate like crystal bell. Sometime I feel like magical or something higher than life because I never imagine how can someone has voice like this that make me think is he an angel? Yeah actually I meet a new friend online we talked about bts we are both new but she also said Jin is really underrated,less appreciated because people always look up the titles the position and Jin is the only one in vocal line that is not in a dance line and the documentary that made they only put him as vocalists or sub vocalists . This is great! Jin's talent is so underrated and often goes unnoticed by non-ARMYs and casual fans. I'm loving that he is getting such a huge moment with the success of The Astronaut. His solo songs have always stood out to me as testaments to his incredible vocal technique and his ability to interpret a song with such grace and meaning. He is the vocalist with the biggest range (Jungkook's words and mine!), has an incredible falsetto and his belts are so powerful! You made a point when you said the lines in K pop may blurr your approach, Jin was label so many times as the non-talented / non central vocal or dancer which painted him in a trapping picture My God the first time i heard 'film out', my heart sank, his voice is so precious, and it opened my eyes to their individualities as artists, and as group Now i appreciate each and every one of their added value to the group / solo

Jin's sound is my favorite among the BTS singers, and yes, I consider Epiphany as one of the pillar songs of the BTS ethos of Love Yourself. He did well to interpret Bang PD's, Slowrabbit's, and Adora's work for sure. Tonight, Abyss are interesting milestones of growth indeed. As much as I LOVE Moon, and The Astronaut, what I wish for Jin is to be able to write about new things he discovers in his life. I wish him well in his military service and may he find new things about life and himself. He doesn't have to keep writing about, and to ARMY. He has already given ARMY so much and what he has given is so precious. Romantic love, national love, calls for peace, brotherhood beyond the 7, all of these things are interesting. To be a soldier in these interesting times... may it give Jin a treasure of experience to write from. But we got distracted about his songwriting and content when the video is about his voice. I think he did so well in tracks like "Run Bulletproof" and in the final section of "Mic Drop." While the video is correct in placing his voice as ideal in Korean style ballads, BTS has been creative in deploying it in their songs too.

I love this so much, he has been my ultimate bias for the past 6 years and I love him dearly, not in a way in which I have romantic feelings for him but rather in a way of pure adoration and admiration towards his work

Thank you so much for this - I have read comments about how Jin is underused in BTS songs but I think that the BigHit producers combine the vocalists' lines to create the best possible version of the song for recording and live performance. Jin and V are my two favourites and I got interested in BTS because of "It's Definitely You". Having said that, I think Jin is the only member I saw who can hold an audience enthralled just by standing there and singing (and got a standing ovation too!) I have so much respect and admiration for Jin because he was well behind the others in terms of singing and dancing skills but got there through sheer determination and hard work. Well, and also the natural vocal timbre that only (!!) needed to be polished and developed to the silver voice he has today. The next 18 months is gonna be a looong wait. And the other members haven't even started their military service yet! Their reunion in 2025 is going to be epic!!!

Jin's voice is classy and emotional. His breathing alone can evoke emotion.

To me, Jin has the most emotive voice. When he sings, I felt there's a hand reaching into my chest squeezing my heart dry n then letting it go so that my heart beats again while I ascended to heaven.

when I became an army, jin quickly shot up to become my favorite vocalist ever. I could hear jin vocal praise alllll day, and I love all your points here!! You mentioned a lot of the things I always yell about 😭😭classical/classic is a word I use to describe jins voice all the time, and even just jin in general. There’s so many words to describe the depth of his vocals but classical works so well as just one of them. Also love how you incorporated the rest of the vocal line in the video to show how they each complement each other, each of their roles and how they each complete the greatest vocal line of all time ⭐️

I usually dont really cry with sad videos or depressive songs unless its has a connection to my real life. But tbh, the astronaut was it. Its so perfectly analogic to jin's life, military enlistment and his relationship with armys, i literally have tears in my eyes. idk what to do i'm kinda shocked

I really have no words to say how grateful I am to Jin, my bias and being an ARMY back then during his Awake Era, I was quite saddened that Jin was not recognized along with the popular members of the group or the Hyung line (it was back then and I could be wrong) nor was he given the praise he deserved as one of the vocalists of the group. But I'm glad BTS really supported their hyung and gave him all the love and appreciation as well as with all the ARMYs who love Jin like we lowkey really had our hearts snatched hearing Jin sing so beautifully. Fast forward to Epiphany, it really was the era where Jin shined, and by shine just the message of Love Yourself felt so vividly bright the moment I heard Epiphany. (lol the days I cried listening to it because it really tugged my heart and just his vocals were on another level...) I loved all his solos and the lyrics really speak of how much Jin has grown, from Awake to Epiphany to Tonight and to Moon (I was not updated up to here due to leaving for a long time...) Still, Epiphany continued to ring at the back of my head, Jin's songs just speaks to the heart if you know what he has been through, all the hard work, determination, and soul Jin placed into establishing his identity and musical color, especially as a member of BTS. Listening to Astronaut, I am again reminded of all those memories...Jin will come back and really...I want to come back and hear his voice again along with the other members. His songs and their message left an impact on me and I look forward to seeing his growth and hearing more of his beautiful voice, one that shines brighter than any silver. Jinhit, let's get it! :'D

Bonjour Bora city. J'ai 54 ans et je suis BTS depuis à peine 1an et demi. En voiture avec une amie j'ai shazamé la chanson Butter car je la trouvé sympa puis je suis rentrée chez moi pour savoir qu' était ce groupe. Et en fouillant you tube m'a amené à serendipity et j'ai aimé alors j'ai écouté d'autres morceaux de BTS mais je suis tombée sur Mom et Epiphany de Jin et j'ai pleuré. J'étais au fond du trou (mon papa est parti après ma petite soeur)....Jin me fait rester BTS. S'il part, je pars même si j'apprécie tous les membres. J'ai lu et visionné beaucoup de choses sur eux tous et Jin en particulier pour rattraper un peu le temps où je ne les connaissais pas. Ils ont tous beaucoup et merveilleusement travaillé mais le parcourt de Jin est celui qui me fascine le plus et oui il a été déprécié et cela continue encore aujourd'hui alors qu'il mérite tellement plus que ce qu'il a aujourd'hui. Votre titre "sous-estimé " n'est pas une insulte mais une réalité et quel dommage pour ceux qui préfèrent déverser de la haine je dirai par "jalousie" que par gratuité. Jin à une voix merveilleuse. Pour ma part c'est la plus belle voix de ce groupe et c'est mon humble avis. Je ne suis ni chanteuse ni musicienne. Je ne suis pas une puriste mais mon oreille et mon cœur reçoivent de belles émotions quand je l'entends et je ne peux m'empêcher de me penser que ma petite sœur qui avait des goûts musicaux différents de moi aurait été pour une fois d'accord avec moi vu la réaction d'une amie qui était comme elle et qui aujourd'hui m'a rejointe sous la bannière KSJ. D'ailleurs elle ne regarde et n'écoute que lui et je le demande comment elle fait quand le groupe est là (je pense qu'elle ne doit suivre que lui du regard🤣😅). Bref, désolée d'être longue. Jin tu es le meilleur, reviens vite et stp en dehors de la musique (j'attends ton album complet avec impatience et comme l'a dit un journal musical anglais cet album sera un succès car tu as la gamme, la tessiture, la couleur etc....je n'ai pas tout compris oups pour cela) montre-nous dans un film ton autre talent: acteur et émerveille-nous. Au fait merci pour toutes tes chansons les émotions sont là pas du tout négatives bien au contraire....du rire aux larmes, des larmes aux rire....et la joie en prime ....Super Tuna me fait souvent commencer ma journée...J'espère que la version démo de L'Épiphany sortira car c'est tellement différent certes de la version sortie mais, elle est si bonne qu'elle le mérite....Tu m'as fait aimer Jirisan grace à cette superbe chanson Yours, la seule série coréenne que j'ai regardé, je ne suis pas très télé, ciné depuis un bon bout de temps. What a lovely video! Jin brings tears to my eyes on the regular. I'm either crying in response to his beautifully personal lyrics, being overcome with emotion over a beautiful note that he's singing, OR I'm in tears, doubled over laughing at his silliness and humor. Jin has always been the backbone of BTS, but has always given me the impression that he doesn't mind when the other members get more accolades than he does. Let's face it, we all love Namjoon, Yoongi, Hobi, Jimin Taehyung and Jungkook . . . but, no matter how much we love them, Jin loves them more. Jin has become such a blessing in my life, in the lives of the BTS members, and in the lives of all ARMY. How fortunate are we have him?
