True story: Jin's voice has a very specific quality to it that for some reason calms down my nervous system. I have a progressive cell disease and a nerve damage in the spine ('cause apparently I don't know how to walk on stairs 😅) and by using Jin's voice as sound therapy I was able to cut my pain meds by 2/3 thereby prolonging the time I have left before pain medication stops working all together by several years. Just one of the reasons he's my bias... 💜

Jin's range is sooo impressive, most men cannot reach the height of his notes. Sometimes I listen to a BTS song and i heard a very high pitched note in the background and wonder if that's either an instrument of Jin's voice. His triple high note in crystal snow background literally sound like a violin on the studio ver and i always thought it wasn't a human producing that sound until I actually watched the live performance and saw Jin bending over and hitting that note.

I love Jin's tone so much. He's an incredible singer and dancer and the fact he started with zero experience in both skills... I'm just so proud of him 😭😭💜

Grammy called him "Silver Voice" for a reason, his techniques are clean and precise falsetto, chest voice, head voice, mix voice, started to learn how to sing as the latest of the group, cause he was studying to become an actor, his hard work paid off, but his company did not appreciate him as from all seven he is the member in all songs with less lines, waiting for his solo Album as always he will not disappoint

Armies who go to watch their concert literally fall in love with jin for his live stable voice and he sings high notes like its nothing none gets to know how high it is until they sing themselves💜

I am always impressed with Jin. He didn’t start singing and dancing until he was like 20. He had to train much harder than everyone else in BTS.

love that you pointed out his range and his accuracy! jin is super impressive because of how consistent he is and his ability to hit both super high and quite low notes. you mentioned the difference between a "normal person" and a "professional" a few times. i totally get what you're talking about - all of bts are super professional and they are professionals for a reason! but i feel like i need to point out: jin WAS a "normal person" until joining bts. he didn't sing (or dance) at all before joining bts (at age 20!). jin's growth really shows that the difference between a normal person and a professional is the hard work and strong work ethic that he puts into his craft to become this good. bts has a mentality of always striving to improve and be a better them, despite already having reached superstardom. after his 9 year career so far, jin continues to show improvement (even though he is already amazing) and i think that's what makes him (and bts) stand out. love your insight as a singer and looking forward to you meeting the rest of the members of bts!

I love hearing someone appreciating Jin's vocal. I have heard a lot people say that he strains but I think he is just passionate and intentional about when he wants to push. I love his natural vibrato and is consistency. Jin graduated in film and theater. I think this has greatly influenced how he sings songs. It's like he feels every word. Rock and traditional Korean ballads are also his favorite genres.

Jin has the biggest stable range in BTS of almost 4 octaves. He can sing low second octave notes and high 6th octave notes easily. You can checkout his covers,solos. He is also recognised by Grammy panel to have Silver Voice which is rare vocal ability to switch from falsetto to headvoice easily

Je ni connais rien en chant et je chante super mal. Mais de toutes les voix de BTS c'est celle de Jin qui me touche vraiment. Je trouve que sa voix est merveilleuse et magique. Je n'ai jamais entendu d'ange mais je me dis qu'elle s'approcherait de la sienne. Donc pour moi, il a une voix angélique qui apaise. J'aime toutes ses chansons. Et quand je vois d'où il est parti pour avoir cette voix aujourd'hui je dis respect. Quelle éthique, ardeur, passion et amour au travail. Il a du suer sang et eau comme on dit et aujourd'hui encore les gens ne le reconnaissent pas à sa juste valeur. BH continue à lui donner moins de lignes, c'est incroyable et injuste. À croire qu'il ne veut que promouvoir les 3 autres que j'apprécie certes mais pour moi cette voix sublime que Jin a est la meilleure de toutes. J'espère qu'à son retour BH arrêtera de le traiter comme la 3ème roue du carrosse et lui donnera ce qu'il mérite et ce pourquoi il a travaillé si durement avec acharnement ne pas ralentir la machine BTS. Dernièrement à la remise des prix où Jin a été escorté par ses membres pour recevoir son trophée dans les commentaires sir you tube, un homme a dit qu'il n'était pas du tout BTS mais que lorsqu'il a entendu la voix de Jin, il n'a pu détacher son regard de lui. Non seulement il était beau(à mon sens toujours, le plus splendide de ce groupe) mais que sa voix l'avait littéralement envoûté. Je suis d'accord à 100%avec lui. Alors que je baigne dans la dépression depuis un moment, les cantiques d'un côté(je suis croyante) et la voix et les chansons de Jin de l'autre sont une grande source de réconfort pour moi. Vivement son retour en bonne santé et plein d'une nouvelle énergie pour nous amener encore avec lui dans son univers de douceur, d'amour, de gentillesse, de larmes et de rires. That "voice break" during Epiphany was actually a stylistic choice. Also, Jin is a theatre major. His first love was acting so he puts a lot of emotion into his singing and basically emotes with his voice.

Personally I LOVE Jin’s voice so much. I love how much you can just feel the emotions through his voice!!! It also is impressive to me how hard he has worked to get his voice where he it is today. He also had mentioned how singing and dancing doesn’t come as easy to him as most of the other members so he has to practice more…. Contrary to what some people might say he does have one of the biggest ranges along side V. He also is one of the most stable after Jungkook. About the way he is holding his mic. I personally don’t know for sure but these are my ideas/opinions: 1. Sometimes they are doing a lot of choreography and idk if he has time to think how he is holding his mic when it his time to sing. However a lot of times when they are dancing they have the mics that go around the face. Idk just a thought. 2. He does have a very strong, powerful, and full voice so he might have to cover it a little so it doesn’t “overpower” the mic or make it “squeak”. Idk just another idea. 3. Or it is just a habit. He also learned everything about music and dance starting from 0, so I mean…. Also also feel Jin’s voice is underrated for ARMY. Idk just my opinion though. (I mean this because most people will mention the other members, especially in comments, a lot more when it comes to vocals)

I always enjoy hearing what people more knowledgeable about music has to say, it helps me appreciate everything that goes into it more and notice new things :) Jin’s voice got an interesting 80’s rockstar quality about it that I love, it’s very powerful and distinct.

At 21:40 you were talking about Jin singing along and matching the intonation of the track when he stopped singing and mouthed the “ah, ha, ha, ha” part. Actually, that part was sung live by Jungkook during the performance and Jin was just singing along off mic.

He is such a beautiful person. Inside and out. I’m not completely sure but I’ve heard that he was taught to sing after being found for his good looks. I say that cautiously because it seems that someone always wants to correct my comments.

Someone reacting to Jin's Epiphany commented that he showed no strain at all even when adding power to the high notes, like he could do it all day. This person said that it's a function of his vocal structure that gives this timbre and other good singers can come close through training but will never quite get the same vocal quality

Isn’t Jin cool because remember he was the member with no singing or dancing experience when he started with Big Hit. They recruited Jin based on his looks when he was riding a bus on his way to class. Kim Seokjin worked really hard to basically catch up with the other guys. He is simply AMAZING!!!💜💜💜😘

i just saw this video and saw him wondering why Jin holds the mic at the top like he does and he even saw a clip were Jin held the mic the right way he thought it should be held .but what he didn’t pick up on was when Jin held the mic (right)he wasn’t on the big stage. when he holds the mic around the top ,if u noticed he was in concert where he is running around ,dancing ,singing all at the same time!!! if he doesn’t hold the mic like that it can slip out of his hand because he is sweating!!!! i have heard this from other vocal coaches but i don’t think any of them have ever experienced a stage like BTS is on!!

An observation I made with almost all bts members mic holding They tend to cup the mic when they are doing choreography and the cupping too is that they are covering the top part my analogy is they're doing that to avoid the mic picking their heavy breathing due to the choreo

Like, who was that power balladeer, and why do these boys have him? 😆 Then I heard his sick screams and high falsettos. I'm an alto, but my voice can still get really shrill as a female. Jin is so comfortable in his wide range that he makes it look so easy, and I don't realize until I actually sing the song how difficult the notes he's hitting are. I have to get in my head before I could get them right, but he does it pristinely effortlessly. I love singing his and Jimin's parts-I'm not really a singer, but even just playing, they really make me work for it. 😅

BEL Development, I enjoy watching reactions much more when they size the BTS screens larger and up from the bottom right or left corners. No matter how many times we international ARMY see the videos, it's nice to be able to read the CC/subs and when the screens are at the bottom, and we pause to catch up to the subs much of them are hidden by the various pause, volume, time, time progress line, settings, full screen, etc. Another reason is that BTS has such a huge output, that occasionally we do watch something for the first time with a reactor, (I especially enjoy ones with some industry knowledge), and it's nice to be able to distinguish the individual guys and read the subs. Some reactors switch to themselves becoming larger when they pause to comment, but make themselves smaller while the BTS video is playing.

Enjoying your reactions. Jin is actually an actor, and it is my opinion that his singing is for the performance. He learnt to sing after joining BTS. It is said that he learnt to play piano specifically to perform that song. Of course he sings for the song and not to show off, it is his song he is performing. He is a star.

Jin is a "diligent" piano student, but isn't confident. He learned the chords for Euphoria so that he wouldn't be faking it onstage with the dramatic piano stage settings. There is a casual video of him practicing w/ a karaoke mic stuck down his shirt while he played. hehe

So if you have a good chunk of time on your hands, check out their MMA 2019 performance. It's a lot of spectacle, and showmanship, and their vocals may not be perfect at all times but I personally find that it makes it more real for me--really proves that they aren't relying on lip-syncing or the backing tracks, but actually performing the whole 40 minutes. You won't be disappointed (also...plenty of choreo!).

Ahhhhh this was so amazing to watch and I had to subscribe here too because I love your honesty and professional eye as well as your willingness to have fun with it! I'm going to look up some of the performances you were enjoying and wanted to see more of and link them later because I agree when you see the full thing with the full experience its just that much more enjoyable. You're a genuine reactor and professional and not someone who will say somethings good if its not, so your sincerity is precious as a viewer and someone who is a fan of music! Seokjin is a true testament to true hard work and that what matters is your ambition, strength, and perseverance in pursuing what you want, and if you put in the work and believe in yourself you can do anything and people will see that and feel that. Also yes the choreo is amazing, doing all that and staying on pitch sounds so hard but they've been doing it for a decade so I can't even imagine. And yeah the members of bts are truly a family and they *all* are perfectionists and meticulous in their art so its not just the amazing music and professionalism that draws us to them, its their love and admiration and communication within themselves and the fans that make them so easy to love, plus when they support so many charities and organizations that help the world and inspire others to do the same, it just adds another layer to their work. So when they have fun on stage we can feel it. I really adored watching this and I totally relate when you said getting into it and bending with the mic and feeling the music is something we would totally do, because that's the dream right? Fyi there are many armys in the comments who are spreading false rumours. Jin joined Bighit at age 18 and started singing at age 18, then he debuted at age 20. Jin has by far the LONGEST Vocal training for 4 years in BTS. Fyi, apart from Jin,V and Jimin also didn’t know how to sing and Jimin till now doesn’t have any vocal training. Only Jin,Jungkook,V are vocally trained

always wondered about their mic technique, actually. a few of them hold it like Jin. Jimin, especially, chokes up on his mic like he wants to make it work time and a half without pay.

Couple things...one, thanks for your positivity!! I was wondering while you were talking about his "e" vowels, part of it may actually be the language. From what little I know Korean doesn't have that kind of "e" sound. Another thing, about the tones because there are four singers, they each have a unique tone but are more than capable of doing pretty much whatever. I honestly think of each of their voices as separate instruments. Does that make sense? Anyway, so I guess for stability and blending purposes they each know they have to keep their tone. IDK.
