Now that I think about it, "Bette Midler of drag" is a great way to describe Jinkx. A gifted actor and singer and a very funny lady. And I totally agree with her, people shouldn't be discussing her weight, especially when we don't know what went into a person's weight gain. I personally gained a lot of weight after I started taking antidepressants for my anxiety and depression. You don't know everything people go through, and I think the way people comment on another person's weight is disgusting and uncalled for, especially since it doesn't affect you personally.

As someone who is experiencing this series retroactively, Jinkx stands out to me as such a breath of fresh air. Watching this, I stopped to comment, because just as I was thinking how genuinely beautiful she is… she mentions the judgmental comments she gets about her weight. Anyway… SNL needs this woman more than ever, especially when four of their cast are leaving after this season. Her audition tape was hilarious, and she would be so versatile.

Tbh hearing Jinkx talk about her weight and self image is very uplifting for me because I experienced a similar. Uh. Physiological change. At roughly the same time in my life. And whenever I got frustrated with it I'd tell myself "well Jinkx put on weight and she looks fantastic"; it works every time for me.

When we met Jinkx, I was so nervous and didn't know what to say, I hugged Jinkx and she said "thanks for coming", I panicked and just said "oh that's alright..." Jinkx is truely an iconic queen. I was rooting for her in her original season and seeing her triumph over being bullied by her fellow cast mates (even though yes reality TV isn’t real but they said what they said) She is such a smart, well rounded queen. She is really the moment. I want her in the final four this all stars.

Absolutely adore Jinkx ever since her crowning season. So talented and entertaining. And I loved her weight comments, that she "signed up to be an actor and comedian" and none of that requires being thin. Agreed, 100%. The drag race fandom can be very judgemental and nasty and overstep their bounds, like the ones who came for Awhora for "destroying her face with surgery" and saying she looked like Squidward. People say all kinds of downright cruel things and I give these queens a lot of credit for maintaining a social media presence despite the toxicity flung at them (and often directly into their inbox) on a daily basis. Glad Jinkx has a therapist, because with the amount of hate public figures get, it's probably necessary to have someone to keep them sane and healthy. I adore Jinkx and will always "stan" her for her talent and awesomeness

I’ve been saying this on social media: don’t diss queens on aspects of them that have nothing to do with their performance. As we get older, our bodies change. It doesn’t mean that Jinkx isn’t still funny, talented and entertaining. I adored her during Season 5, and I adore her now.
