The fact that you guys are arguing about whether he was "kidding" or not is funnier to me than any of the memes. He's the only one who knows if he is kidding. Some people can't be read as easily because they have idiosyncratic behaviors specific to them. It's like how a psychopath is disconnected from their body so it's easier for them to lie because only their words tell the lie, not their body language. People with tourretes are opposite. They "seem" nervous and jittery so it's hard to tell if something is serious or not. Study some psychology before you comment on psychology, unless you like coming across as ignorant and stupid.

@Dahrk One ahahaha arguing???ok champ you must be on to it allright .buttttt... I have just heard the same quote from professor Danaher when he come home to New Zealand.. it's a mental exercise he does with his students mate.so get off your high ass horse buddy..funny that those that think they know have never met master hall's professor.if u had of then you would understand master hall for real this is what you are taught.its called the art of self mastery..try it one time..and I did study psyc 101 human behavior body language and interrogation and measured force interrogation just for your info so stop it with the manipulative articulation and actually do your own research before snapping at people cause you might fuck with someone a bit better at it than you son.ill leave you with that I hope you have more to educate me on I await your guidance brother.

Man that story with Murillo Santana hits home. Just when you think you're pretty good at BJJ some dude kicks your ass completely and you're like "do I even know any Jiu Jitsu?"
@kennyhouser3467
@kennyhouser3467 3 жыл бұрын
I've been practicing BJJ for over 20 years, had 8 amateur fights, and spent 6 years as an Army combatives instructor and I don't think I've ever once thought of myself as good. I have more good days than bad but I think everyone has experienced those days where you just can't get it right. Body feels weird, like it's not firing on all cylinders or that there is some sort of brain fog that you can't shake off. The trick seems to be to approach the art as an instructional every time you do it. I know that sounds about as exciting as dry toast but it has kept me grounded through the years. The only time I actually felt helpless was when I had a half assed spar with Carlos Condit because I knew that at any second he could turn it up about 10 degrees and beat the tar out of me with little more effort than he was already using. I remember being timid at first because he was a big shot UFC fighter at the time(pre-interim title days) and I know standard etiquette but it was Carlos Condit... He was a really cool down to Earth guy so I asked what kind of spar he would allow and he said those famous words, "hit me as hard as you want to be hit back." Needless to say, the portion where Ryan talked about "is this guy letting me do this stuff" resonated with me. I threw a couple of tricky combos and feints at him and got him to bite a few times but I figured he was probably doing the same to me. It was a really fun time but I was under no illusion that we were equals at the time.

He got put to sleep while on the ground from punches. Hope he plans on steeping up his striking game a lot or he may as well retire.

@@jasonablah7702 true, also the ufc rules are all favouring BJJ. A lot of his leg locks would be easily nullified if opponents were allowed to kick him in the head when he is kn rhe ground or when they are both on the ground, or punch to the back of the head or use 12 to 6 elbows etc. He is such an overhyped and one dimensional fighter.

I was aware of this guy's fighting ability by watching him in the UFC and always liked his style but he always seemed a bit too cold or focused to really radiate personality but here with the length of this podcast he really got to showcase who he is im a much bigger fan of his now what a smart and witty no nonsense guy. Hope he gets bigger matchups and that the other UFC fighters stop dodging him

He’s absolutely right when he says if you want something, you’ll do it. If you end up not doing it, you didn’t actually want to. It’s not about ability but desire. If it’s physically possible for you to achieve something and you want to do it, you’ll do it. People who are physically capable and mentally unwilling will never achieve. The reverse cannot be said. Physically incapable people can become physically capable through exerting mental will.
