I'm 20 years younger & his albums were still be brought around when I was a teenager. I was lucky to have friends whose parents were the original hipsters who grew up with it all. Most of the music I love is from that era (the 70s). This was his final album, so it's quite recent. But it's still based on that original vibe. You're right. The feel of this kind of music will never come around again. There was something very special about music from the 70s. I'm not sure why that is (it's obviously cultural), but it was a unique period. We're lucky to have it!

Everyday I find a new Cale song I have to listen to about ten times in a row. Today it’s this song. JJ Cale I wish I would have had the chance to see him perform live.

I just had the same experience with "Hang Ups" & "High School". And "Durango" before that. I've always owned his first 4 albums, but never ventured further for some strange reason that I can't explain. The good thing about that is that, at 58 (in an era of really poor music), I now have several new albums to enjoy. It's been like gold digging & actually finding some of the real stuff!

Same rhythm as in Roll On and Low Down. You take one rhythm and compose different lyrics to it and you have many songs :( This shows you why the Beatles were so great. They had songs which were completely different from one another.
