Back in the day (before I came home from a six-month military trip to find my house sold, my stuff thrown away - becoming a single mom with over $800,000 of divorce debt to deal with) I used to love ordering Harry & David as gifts for clients and myself.
It's been a long time since I've been willing to spend that kind of money on gift, but now I'm in a better place, so I decided to order "Harry's Gift Box" as my mom's birthday gift. I got one for myself as well.
I'm not sure about Mom's, but my pears arrived bruised and overripe. One of them had a big hole in it. I complained to the company, who offered me 20% discount as an apology. I told them since their holiday sales were much higher discounts, 20% didn't sound like they really cared to keep me as a customer. So then they offered to replace the Box and I was so excited! It arrived yesterday and here I am opening it immediately.
Unfortunately, this box wasn't much better than the first one. For the premium we're paying, I expect the fruit to be a much better quality upon arrival. Back in the day, Harry & David fruit used to arrive nearly perfect. It was such a delectable treat! Not anymore :-(
