Was there a limit to how far back this went? The bottom guy on the list had 1,515 in his best year. But throughout my childhood and into my college years, the top two spots belonged to Charlie Hennigan and Lance Alworth, each of whom had way more than that in their best seasons. In fact, the record was finally disrupted in 1995, when four different players had 1,600-plus rec yards. Alworth went from No. 2 to No. 6 in that one year.

They were in the AFL, so that's probably why they were not included
