@@jjohn408 It was said by someone who wasn't even in the meeting. Politics... The Palestinians are united by one goal, undoing Israel. Having a state when that is their mindset can be fatal to Israel can be fatal. Israel's support came from several reasons: 1. Until the Palestinians decide what they want besides being united about destroying Israel. Having different governments under the West Bank and Gaza is a strategic move. So our government can check the water with a proposal for peace every now and then which was never received 2. Hamas is the government in Gaza, improving the Gazans' life was seen as an essential phase in reducing the desire for terror. You can't have the help economy of Gaza without their government. Obviously, this method failed and now Hamas has to be removed from any position of power in Gaza. Work in progress.

Even many buy into thinking ''israel'' is behind the establishment, when in fact the establishment is deeply anti-israel (as they are against any strong sense of community and culture, especially if they are strongly pro-morality). However as more people buy into those false narratives, the contrast between you and those that have morals and who aim for a bright future for all, deepens. The more obvious the badness of the other side is, the more people will wake up and see this war for what it really is. A war for the very moral survival of humanity, against those that have been slowly corrupting it for many years.

Ah. We have to describe unsuccessful countries as “developing world” countries. We have been assuming “development” happens automatically over time. Gaza was to become an autonomous Singapore and eventual independence. East Jerusalam population annexed to Israel. Area A to become walled Palestinians cities. Palestinians in area B and C moved to Area A and annexed. Hamas in Gaza changed all that. It decided to fight. Is that noble or dumb?

Melanie's final appeal lands like a half-soliloquy. Those taxi drivers and indeed almost the whole population have, it seems, fallen completely asleep to an absolute cornucopia of pre-requisites for having and being able to defend a fulfilling existence. What's behind this is the Brits' resentment of the sometimes-violent, sometimes-peaceful campaign by the Yishuv against the British empire in the 1940s and the drive to kick out the Brits and establish a Jewish state. While this is way in the past, it became part of the British collective unconscious and is there just below the surface.

I agree Jesus came with an inclusive monotheism but the Christian claim to his divinity is doctrinally problematic for both Muslims and Jews. In addition Jews reject his pedigree as a Messiah

Huh? There is no “West”. There is an Anglosphere, there is Western Eurabia, and there is Central Europe. These areas aren’t necessarily a civilizational unit.
