I love when comedians use life experiences in their stand up, its much more funnier because the audience can relate. I did the exact same thing for my son but I found out the hard way when I rode his hoverboard and fell off broke every bone in my ankle.

I remember when i was kid i really want train set toy but can't afford it. Now i'm adult and have my own family. Last week i bought 3 box of thomas and friend train set online and tell my wife its for our daughter (2 Yrs old),.when the package arrive it's me who excited the most and do unboxing and assembly all of them ,.my daughter just sit wach me playing the thomas train for like 30 minutes before her turn.

This is a joke but it's true! I hated my mom for recommending me to do things i don't like, like getting into pageants, playing her fave sport (joining a team), get singing lessons, etc. And when i say no she'd always retort with, "if i was as tall as you i'd definitely join a pageant.", "i wanted singing lessons but we couldn't afford it." and more, usually about my height. It always pissed me off and felt like she's trying to make me another version of herself. So i rebelled a lot. Lol. My introversion intensified - became so unfriendly and kept to myself a lot. 😅😅 luckily, i still gained friends though. But it stuck to me to be very picky about the people i keep in my company. Now that i'm older, i understood her a bit and would tell her why i don't agree with what she wants and tells her to just go do what you want, don't bother with the judgement of others because it's much better to be able to try out the things you like than be stuck wishing you were able to do them. And yes, when she got a chance for something like a pageant (not really a pageant but more like a costume contest) i helped her splurge on her get up. Man the research i did for that theme they had, it was the first time i ever searched so hard about dressing up so finely and all. She didn't win but she was happy that she got a whole lot of votes anyway. XD

We grew up middle class and for the most part we got everything we wanted, however my mother still said no. For instance, I would ask for it, and my mother would yell at me and would say - what do you think Im printing the money in the back of the house? We don't have a money tree that I can shake the shit out of it and it falls off!!! (*flash forward to xmas and I got it and I would laugh and love it more...) because she would basically teach me I don't need it - and then when she could get it. And then I realized she was preparing me not to get so comfortable getting stuff - JUST BECAUSE - so we mostly only got spoiled on xmas and birthdays - and we would get tinker toys for easter.

Yup! I love my boy. I get him whatever he wants. Can’t help it. But he’s good, he doesn’t ask for much, he’s got a better head on his shoulders than me. And I love him for it.
