Me too - as an older Irish gay man in the U.K. 22 years, I absolutely adore Joan Collins, as during my teens in the 1980’s when I was living with parents in Rural Ireland, it was Joan as Alexis in Dynasty who inspired me and gave me the courage to come out as gay, aside from Alexis’ gay son Steven ❤❤❤❤❤

Dame Joan Collins for British PM - despite huge Hollywood success she has never forgotten her British heritage and she is an ardent monarchist, with a very wide appeal to most British people - her role as Alexis in Dynasty makes her very suited to the role as PM, as she has also made some very interesting points on political issues in interviews, showing that she is very much in touch with what is going on - and frankly, the House of Commons and No 10 needs some much needed glamour

Much is made of her beauty and she IS a naturally beautiful woman but what separates her from the pack is her presence- Supra aura , magnetic charisma - one can’t look at anyone else while she’s on screen . Only person on a scene that I’ve watched that held her own with Joan was Diahann Carroll who asked the cameraman / director to film their scenes with full close ups instead of showing both women in same scene from one angle . Each woman could shine and the viewer wouldn’t feel cheated . They admired each other and Diahann just wanted the role for a year. She had no designs to be The star of the show as she liked to sing, act - movies , play, TV . Joan made her mint while on Dynasty which she called where people “ dine nasty “ but makes for great entertainment . All tongue in cheek taken seriously just enough to get behind the storyline . In a Barbara walters interview at height of the fame of dynasty how much did she fret over losing this powerful period in her career.? Her response was “ it’s not a matter of if my fame will go down but when , I know and appreciate this period and I don’t fret over losing it because I know I will - it’s life and whatever comes it happens because if you live your life fully wherever you are in life you’ll be ready to appreciate that moment without regret . I really like her honesty and bluntness . She knows stardom can be fleeting and enjoys the ride while it’s in motion . Her accent adds to her allure . She has lived her life with the gusto of a man . She didn’t suffer fools and held a strong firm hand holding her own with the men . Funny how she wasn’t in to gossip but her sister writes books about it - fiction loosely based on things she’s heard like Jaquiline Susann and valley of the dolls . I’m glad she carved her own career path and found her life’s love in Percy . He’s a perfect very large masculine man who has enough sensitivity without sacrificing his male perspective . She respects him because he holds his own with her , doesn’t cow tow to her every wish. When she talks of him there’s a gleam in her eyes and seems delighted with him .

She absolutely does look fantastic for her age; but as she says, she works on it and she has good genes; but does she look the same as she did in Dynasty? Certainly not. Nor should we expect her to. But also this is 13 years ago, and if you see her now, you will also see that age is taking its toll; but certainly she is looking far younger than other women of the same age.

I just watched this interview last night. She said "I don't really like meat." I perked up at that because I don't like meat either and I wouldn't eat a steak or a cheeseburger (or any red meat) if it was the last food on the planet. But I will very occasionally eat a BLT sandwich if the bacon is very, very crispy or a small baked chicken breast. So I don't think she contradicted herself. I was more confused about the "fry up" breakfast. I don't even know what that is.

Well, I think she's telling the truth. WITH facelifts her eyebrows would be higher and there wouldn't be any sagging around her mouth, but there is. Not much, but you can tell. And having had two facelifts myself I know what I'm talking about.
