rad that a younger generation experiences the awesomeness of Joan of Arc. I was fucking 21 at the time of this show. I remember seeing promise ring, texas is the reason, and jejune (I think it was jejune that played) in 97 or 99 and hearing these guys for the 1st time.

Couple songs from my all time favorite Joan of Arc record..... Live in Chicago, 1999. It's not actually a live album, and it's easily one of their most melancholy. It also turned me onto the French New Wave film work of Jean Luc Godard.

Wow, they even integrated a live on-stage amp burning, truly avant-garde!

I was living in Swarthmore at the time of this show. Of course, I was only 9 years old. Also this was 10 days before the release of the American Football LP.

Vuk Jankovic I think he’s implying that mike is wearing it in the capn jazz video. No need to be rude.

Michael Thomas I'm from Runnemede, NJ which is a rock thrown away from Philly. Nice to see a Birds logo on a JoA video webpage.

It's Matt Clark, who played with them during the Gap sessions and then briefly on and off afterwards in the early '00's. He also was the guitarist in Pinebender and played in a noise duo called White/Light
