I gotta say, the Xeno's entrance with the slow extension of its tail before impaling the predator was pretty epic.

Celtic and Chopper, two young blood Yautjas were taken down by one Xenomorph. While Wolf, an elite Yautja hunted and killed swarms of Xenomorphs. Also reveals just how deadly a single Xenomorph is. I just love seeing how they depicted the clear skill gap in these two films.

I like how they gave this xenomorph (Grid) a character. Since he kills both Predators and is seen many times in the movie, rather than just making them a bunch of random xenomorphs indistinguishable from each other.

I honestly liked the Xeno aka Grid killing the Predators, it really showcases how just one Xeno is dangerous on it own. But I do agree that the two Predators were killed too fast though.

I think this shows the difference between the two species very well. The Yautja are incredibly warriors but their skills are for the most part learned. They do have some heightened senses and physical attributes but overall they have to learn to be a hunter. Meanwhile the Alien emerges extremely deadly and has the capacity to learn but also is driven largely by instinct. The Predators are taking their time savoring the kill because they are new to this and so they don't even notice the deadliest thing in the room that sneaks up on one of them to systematically begin wiping out the biggest threats to the hive.

1:22 that's one of the best takes in the whole movie. Comes right out of the comic book.

Idc what anyone says this movie will always be iconic. My dad showed me both predator and the aliens movies as a kid. I can remember saying on more then one occasion “I wish they’d combine the two and have like a predator Vs Alien movie” never forget the day me and my dad saw the commercial for this movie I freaked out. Edit: I posted this 2 weeks ago and I’m currently in the bathroom and can hear my dad watching AvP in the other room… TIMELESS.

Actually loved seeing the one pred fully body slamming the alien and knocking pillars out in the process. It makes you realise they're more than just high tech weaponry.

Keep in mind that this was considered a trial. That's the only reason the xeno killed 2 predators. The predators were young inexperienced and by the predators standards, weak. There is a reason the preds made this task.

This is the best scene imo. Two predators reeking havoc and then comes a Xeno single handedly taking them both out. Badass scene.

These predators are considered “young bloods” in the Predator world, as they have been on planets to hunt, but have not yet killed a Xenomorph. Evidence to this is you never see him use his plasma caster during this fight. It’s Predator law that you have to kill your first Xenomorph with blades and your hands before you’re allowed to use the plasma caster. Later on in the film you see the Main Predator get his first Alien kill and mark his helmet with the acid, confirming that he had defeated his first Xenomorph.

Edit: So Chopper (The first Predator) was focused more on the humans than his mission to hunt Xenos. Technically they all did, my only guess is that these predators heard about their kin being killed more often by modern humans so they were extremely cautious. But anyway chopper focused on the humans and in trying to hunt them and get his plasma cannon, the Xeno (Grid) stabbed him in the back. He wasn’t paying attention to his surroundings like a good hunter should. Animals use their surroundings to their advantage and the Xeno was high up in the dark. Celtic- so he is very large and strong. I’m guessing more than average for even a Predator. He was badass but he had one flaw. He loves hand to hand combat. He’s more of a Brawler than a hunter. Earlier in the movie he beats up a human rather than just killing him. The human was weak/beat up enough for a quick kill but Grid was not. Xenos are tough, crafty, and sneaky. Celtic whooped grids ass rather epically but he then caught grid in a net. Thinking grid was weak and hurt enough for a quick kill. I personally believe Grid did a possum act, where it looked like the only move he had left was a jump from a high place, then made it look like he was all weak and helpless until his blood cut through the net for a surprise ambush. Celtic got cocky and didn’t think correctly. Also you should never go towards the end with teeth on a trapped animal. Everyone knows that. Scar- he was a great hunter but he did one thing wrong. He marked himself to soon. As soon as he killed the Xenos he felt he achieved his goal and he deserved the mark and respect, killing a Xeno brings. But as he was marking himself, his face as exposed to a face hugger. If he had waited until he was sure all Xenos were dead, he would’ve won. Probably would’ve killed the queen with no issue. Predators aren’t invincible and these were young and barely experienced. They made mistakes even human hunters make. It is no surprise to me that they died very quickly.

This film is underrated, I love the build up to the two iconic monsters facing each other and the whole pyramid storyline was unique and refreshing in my opinion!

While the quality of the movie itself may not be up to the standards of either the Alien or Predator series, seeing these two finally come face to face in this scene was incredibly chilling, especially experiencing it in theatres. Yeah, it may not make a whole lot of sense, but this whole sequence almost single-handedly justifies this movie.

can we just take a moment to appreciate how tough and strong a xenomorph is compared to its thin fragile looking figure.

1:47 I always thought this was so cool, the way the Xenomorph tackled the Predator it felt very realistic and animal like.

Alien senses are truly unreal. Notice how fast it went into prep mode even from a mere glance it perceived from the second Predator. And the best part is it didn't fuck around with the body to look cool, it just tossed it aside the moment it perceived the killing intent from the other and got right back to work. Also love how the young Predator was like "fuck this, I'm going to bull rush and WWF this bastard into walls"

Swinging the xenomorph around into the pillars followed by the Yautja's roar in the end is just great cinematography

The fact that a xeno could left up a predator (which they are about 520+ pounds) with his tail is really impressive

What I loved about this movie is that in all of their separate movies, people are running from them. It was nice to see these iconic beasts with an opponent who isn't afraid to attack head on.

I like how every time the predator runs the camera shakes with it 😂

My favourite scene in the entire movie; was worth the price of admission. The tension, the music, seeing something blood curdling for the first time...whatever that went through Lex's mind was potrayed by the music.

I feel like this is why the Xenomorphs were considered by the Predators the perfect prey to test their strength. In a group they can put up a great fight, the Predators that is, and straped up even better. The last stand at the pyramid in the vision showed that. And the 1v1 in that same vision showed why just 1 Alien was needed for a trail. This movie needs a reboot I miss it so much.

I love this movie so much. I watched it at least once every year.

They said they're ready for the hunt, and then 2 hunters out of 3 got killed in 5 mins.

I absolutely love this battle and how it depicts xenomorphs with the ferocity and strength they truly have. So many fans act like xenos are just bugs, forgetting that one alone is still a near perfect killing machine. They're not overpowered at all here: this is their true power.

I lost it when that predator slammed the xeno into the wall. One of the coolest scenes in any movie

I consider the xenomorph to be scarier than the predators, because the predators do have ethics, a code, and a society: if you're not a threat, it probably won't come for you, but the xeno will not think twice.

Predator "I know that the Alien can break the net thanks to the sulfuric acid in his body! Therefore, I will super-slowly approach him so that he can burn through the net and kick my ass."

I may not have liked the design this film used for the Alien, but in terms of how the creatures were portrayed I think this movie did pretty decently compared to the various comics, novels and video games. This is a far cry from the generic space bugs that die easily en-masse in the comics; this is much closer to how the Perfect Organism should be portrayed. One Alien alone is capable of taking out two Predators by itself.

This was the most dangerous the Xenomorphs have been since the first Alien movie.

I really love what this movie did to the Xeno tails,longer,bigger almost Scorpion-like and able to be used both as a whip and a spear😊

The effects still look AMAZING to this day, not like a game cutscene like some other films at this time (or now, really). I actually like this movie; it had an interesting premise. The only thing I dislike is that it's inexplicably PG-13. Whichever executives came up with that ridiculous idea were altogether wrong. In any case, the characters were okay to likeable, the concept was interesting, and the way the fight scenes were choreographed /shot and the effects were incredible.

Crazy too think that the Alien really saved all the humans in this scene. Predator was about too slaughter all of them!

I can see why hunting Xenomorphs is such a crucial rite of passage among Yautja, even one Xenomorph is very lethal and only the most tenacious and strongest Yautja make it out alive. It's no wonder the Yautja sent Wolf, a highly trained veteran to put down the infestation in Colorado.

Applause to Raul Bova (Sebastian), one of few humans that could land a punch to a predator!

I do appreciate how they made the Xenomorphs in this movie very difficult to kill, maybe not for more experienced yauja, but strong enough to properly take out two predators (yes who were still young), were very capable of doing damage, I just like how it's not too overpowering for each species but only for this movie. As AVPR came it really showed more at how much better an elite yauja is.

We need more AVP movies…

This Alien literally killed 2 predators, pure badass.

The action scene is good and the start to it, with the invisible Predator getting impaled and lifted up by the Xenomorph’s tail, is absolutely iconic. I just think the three Predators getting taken down to one so quickly, and by the same Xenomorph no less, makes the incredible bad-assery of the third one a much harder sell. It reminds me of the joke of the “law of inverse ninjas,” where the more there are the less skilled they are individually until the last one is practically unbeatable. It’s not a deal-breaker for me, but I do think it was a missed opportunity/wasted potential. I think it would have worked better to give the Predators more time to shine, maybe see them working as a group or even working against one another, like one or two get their kills and start behaving arrogant and cocky, trying to out-do the others which could be what gets them killed. Could be a chance to give the Predators personalities and to showcase how just because you’ve killed ONE Xenomorph and gotten your trophy doesn’t mean the game is over; you still have to get out alive. All that said… this movie does have some bad-ass action sequences 😁👍

The personalities of each Yautja brothers sent to this hunt really do stand out if you pay attention enough; Chopper had the more high risk, high reward mentality of the three, throwing caution to the wind before he was ambushed and slain by Grid. Celtic, the more beefier of the three, was the Yautja who relied more on his natural brute physical strength, so he was more overconfident, egotistical, and quick to anger, which led to his underestimation during his attempt to avenge his brother's death, resulting in his own. And Scar was the youngest and the smartest between the three, relying more on his cunning than everything else, as well as being the only Yautja to have succeeded in his hunt prior to leaving the Pyramid and suffering fatal injuries during his battle with the Xenomorph Queen.

This fight coupled with the encounters Wolf has goes to show how the whole fight really boils down to skill and cunning. Celtic had the weaponry and size advantage, but Grid was smarter and more adaptable. Using its injuries to its advantage and outsmarting the young blood.

I love this scene! When you watch behind the scenes on the Dvd, they said this fight scene took a month to film. After it was all done and put together they said it was worth taking that long.
