She threatens Bloodsport, and could have made the offer to help his daughter with guaranteed schooling/care. She also told a bunch of killers, that everyone in an area was hostile to them, so they killed a bunch of people that could have helped them.

Everyone involved nailed it with this movie. It's actually sort of ironic since the recent video game Suicide Squad channels a lot of the energy of this movie, but is getting hated on due to people expecting an Arkham game. It's the mix of wanton brutality, dark comedy, and cinematic shots that make for a great, not-for-everyone anti-hero movie.

The first film is a case of misleading marketing and feels so... generic. At that time when it was released, superhero team ups like Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy have good chemistry yet the first Suicide Squad film was like a bland copycat except the world-saving heroes were pasted with former supervillains (and I'm afraid that the MCU's Thunderbolts would become the same thing). I can see why people would hate the squad unknowingly killing the freedom fighters, but I like how this film took a different approach with the team. The brutal deaths of the opening scene show that there are actual stakes involved and it feels like an actual Suicide Squad composed of morally flawed members. That's my take on it anyways. I don't necessarily hate the first film, but I personally find the execution of the story, visual style, character development, etc to be way better

This is NOT what the first Suicide Squad should have been. The second version makes the first look like a Shakespearean epic. The action scenes are ridiculous and on the whole the Squad is poorly portrayed. The direction is a joke.
