Dick Winters was a true American hero! Thank you for promoting his story. Dick Winters was the reason I joined the United States Army giving me the opportunity to serve in the best military in the world for 27 years, four months and 26 days. If I could do it, I will still be wearing the uniform today. Thanks Jocko for your military service and your continued service to our military and veteran communities.

At 1:14:12 to 1:17:35. I really felt as if you knew me personally and knew my struggle. It's been 5 years since I've left the military and I feel as if I'm still struggling with life sometimes. I just wanted to let you know that I've felt your words to be very comforting to me. Thank you for everything @jockowillink

IllIIll I was never a soldier. War and business should not be compared. But I am an ER nurse and leader. I have seen much death. I have seen the evil that humans inflict on one another and on themselves. I too felt Jocko's words were meant for me. I have learned a great deal from this podcast and I thank Jocko and echo for their leadership and discipline and humility. I also thank you, stranger, for your service and my freedom. Keep moving forward and GET AFTER IT!

I know it's been 3 years since your comment and 8 since getting out but I hope all is well and that you've found another mission in this crazy life. It's been almost 13 years since I got out and theres been many many days I've struggled , struggled to find a purpose and wonder why I got out. Fortunately I was blessed with my amazing, beautiful daughter in 09 and she gave me that reason to keep going! Even though some of my own stupid choices and her mother making life difficult hasnt made it all sunshine and rainbows but I just think and look at my baby and tighten the hell up and keeping pushing forward!! I really hope you doing well and thank you for your service Semper Fi

I started at 1 like a week ago now im on 17. been listening for a while but decided to start at the roots. I do not hype things up usually but this is the greatest podcast I have ever heard. I cant express enough how glad I am to have started enforcing discipline on myself. I have taken my life in my own hands and I thank you for that.

Another outstanding Podcast in the books. A fellow Army Veteran introduced me to your guys Podcast 2-weeks ago. Just wanted to let you know I greatly appreciate the work you all put into it. Much needed messages given the unfavorable influences "Reality TV" and "lame-stream" media ideologies are having on our culture .

I've always felt like the harshness of life, the struggle and the hard truth was something you can appreciate because you get to evolve trough it.... listening to Jocko for 17 episode now, I feel like I was right! There's nothing to feel good about in war and it must be hell .... but the way Jocko talks, he got out of it with the treasure of knowing to Appreciate life to the fullest! The podcast is perfect for me, I want to hear about the reality of life and face it, and here is the best place to learn how to do that! thanks Jocko and Echo!

Jocko, when you read in the book and talked about leadership being lonely... I feel like leading in my own life is getting to be a pretty lonely thing. I try to be friendly yet keep my distance from people who are negative and unmotivated now. It's hard to find others who are interested in instilling discipline on their lives in the same way I am. Where do you suggest that I go to look for individuals of the same mindset? I'm 30, and I have been thinking about joining the National Guard. What percent of folks in this line of work do you think share the same philosophy vs. the general population?

How dare you talk about ownership and responsibility when right now you are abdicating your responsibility and your duty to step up for your country when it needs you the most. I respect you. However haven't you looked around lately? What is it going to take for you to step up and to take responsibility for your position your potential to be one of the greatest presidents this nation has ever seen. What is it going to take?
