Jodie Comer talks ‘The Last Duel’ and the Importance of Women’s Stories

Jodie Comer was immediately intrigued by “The Last Duel” when she was asked to meet with director Ridley Scott about starring in the period film. While Damon and Affleck teamed up to write the chapters about the men, writer Nicole Holofcener was brought in for Marguerite’s perspective. “I think she brought such a nuance to the script. There’s a lot that can go unsaid between women and there’s a lot that can be said,” Comer said of Holofcener. “I was able to be really open and vulnerable. We were able to do that with each other and speak openly.”

Ridley Scott wanted to work with Jodie because he saw her in Killing Eve, and people who saw it know that she can use her look, her expressions even without saying a word, (needless to say her voice and how she changes accents in a second).

Please don't just talk about wanting to see it. Go see it, spend your money on a movie like this. Otherwise, big budget films like this will go away to make room for even more franchise fare.

Totally disagree, Ben Affleck, and the young actor who plays king charles who makes think of a joffrey bis of GOT are the weak points of the film with also the last chapter being too predictable and not nuanced, but this actress is excellent from start to finish, she has a very subtle acting throughout the film, she succeeds without dialogue but just by the expressions of her face to convey the thoughts of her character, for example the last shot of the film, just with her face you can perceive what the character feels, a sign of a good actress, a look says it all.
