As an older player myself, I am very impressed with how respectful Joe is towards these old legends. He doesn't try to shine or dominate, instead he tries to make them shine. It's wonderful to see, and it warms my old heart. Never change Joe!

WOW!!! I have always been a huge fan of Eric Clapton and just a few years ago discovered Joe Bonamassa. To see the two together making such joyful music is a blessing all its own. They both seemed to be completely happy to be together, making beautiful sounds. Gotta find more of this!!!

Eric is absolute guitar royalty. He's an old timer now, but he's still a competitor. Guitar players, especially high level players are viciously competitive. This young kid comes in and he's polished. This makes Eric feel like a young guy again. He's always seemed very polite and proper. That's because he's always as good or better than the other players. He's never threatened. A killer comes in and he's gonna sit up in his seat and drive with both hands. Love to see that dynamic.

Joe kept his supersonic speed licks in his pocket out of respect. A true rock n roll gentleman...🎸

I am so happy for Joe as I am sure this was one of his life long dreams to play alongside “God” himself. No one deserves it more. His hard work and humility has paid off.

The first time I listened to this I thought Eric’s tone was terrible but the more I listen to it the more it seems perfect for the moment. Absolutely awesome.

The amount of respect those guys showed for each other on that song was wonderful. Joe was careful not to cover Eric's softer tone or upstage him, which I believe he could've done. And that smile on Eric's face during the duel solo said it all!

Consider for a moment, how many guitarists would give up one of their teeth, maybe even a kidney, just for the chance to get up on a stage ONE time, and play just ONE song, with Eric Clapton to a sold-out venue. Now consider for a moment that Eric Clapton got up on stage, ONE time, just to play ONE song with . . . Joe Bonamassa, to a sold-out Royal Albert Hall! Just let THAT sink in for a moment.

The soloing on this is spectacular! When they both go high up on the neck simultaneously, I can feel the whole room lift. One of the best guitar moments ever. Two absolute masters!

Two masters of the blues and the guitar.

My first two times through this, I did my best to play along. For the third listen, I just turned my amp off and cried. Thanks, Joe, for bringing us this legendary moment.

When they start playing you can see Eric is just a little unsure of how they are going to work together. But, as they go through the song, hand the ball back and forth and start to jell he relaxes. By the end when they are jamming together he has a smile on his face and they are just so in tune with each other. As Mark, my brother by another mother God rest him, used to say. Cool beans.

Getting to play with EC is an equivalent to winning a Nobel prize for music.

I imagine the next day someone asked Clapton what he did the night before and he just said "eh I just stopped by and sat in with Joe Bonamassa at the Royal Albert Hall..." LOL!

Fantastic playing by both. According to Joe, Clapton turned up with a brand new Strat and a brand new 57 reissue twin and a lead and just plugged in and played. No messing about. Legend. This is one of my favourite Clapton tunes which I learnt as best as I could about 30 odd years ago. Must go and have another bash!

Clapton's rhythm playing is sublime.

What a phenomenal moment in time with these two superb guitarists both playing leads back and forth and in tandem. Not so much a duel but totally complimentary to one another. What a privilege to those who were there to experience this. We get the experience here. What a night.

You can see part way through the call and response, that Eric and Joe click and just start really enjoying the moment. Music is amazing!

Incredible. I could see Clapton really enjoying himself when they started trading licks. He went from pretty much straight faced to smiling and having a great time with Bonamassa.

Something I've always noticed about Eric's playing is how relaxed he is. Unlike many metal shredders who feel the need to be super animated in their physical movements, Eric just let's the music do the talking. The net result is he never fluffs a note, he never makes a mistake.

What an outstanding performance. Best version of this tune ever IMO. A group of humble, professional 'team' oriented musicians onstage backing each other up. A great example for the rest of us...

I never tire of hearing this song and watching Joe & Eric play off each other! I read once that Joe said he played it pretty much exactly as he had learned it as a child from Clapton’s recording, and he was somewhat wishing he had improvised something new for this performance with Clapton. But not so fast.....I think Clapton is really enjoying this tribute to his own work…and I’m sure it was an honor for him to hear Joe play it perfectly! Clapton looks very pleased.

Joe tells a story about this where he was little-kid-nervous about inviting Eric to come and see him play at Albert Hall -- not because it was Albert Hall, but because Eric had done such an ep[ic performance there. He said he would have played at some pub if Eric had playered there as well. Eric accepting the invite. Joe said Eric's support essentially endorsed Joe as a player. Joe was sop gracious about Eric, and Eric was gracious in return. This is what sports calls sportsmanship. We all stand on the shoulders of those who have come before us.

Older greatness Newer greatness, both of them are nice guys and humble. Can’t wait to see Joe this December.

Eric the Blues Master as a youngster he played with the Legends Muddy Water, B B King and more, he is a Englishman you know. Joe, Damn. Man we didn't see you coming, but what a ride, keep it up. Lovin' it guys.

It doesn't matter next to which blues great Joe Bonamassa is, no matter with whom he plays, when he starts to play my heart goes out to him. He is not comparable to anything or anyone. The way he plays is unmistakable.

The time honoured 'Student' and 'Master' scenario. You can see Joe is awed and inspired by having Eric on stage with him. At the same time you can see the smile and glint in Eric's eye as he recognizes the huge talent that is Joe Bonamassa unfolding before him. Its like the Master is passing the 'Baton' to his Student who has passed the toughest of exams playing this classic blues number at the Royal Albert Hall. Awesome.

Can you imagine, just 3-400 years ago, public performances like this were for royalty only. We are so blessed to not only see it at home, fully mixed for sound, in our own personal ear phones or audio system. To have these two men on the same stage is like having Ice Cream and Cake of the highest caliber for your dessert!!!!

I absolute love Clapton on his Strat, but for this I wish he had strapped on his red Gibson 335. Man the dueling humbuckers would have been epic. What a fun performance!
