My problem with Joe Budden is his need to always change the narratives on his own narratives or even others. He loves to control a narrative. It's a mistake giving this kinda person any clout because he is just tryna change narratives on himself for being a shit person. CTG had nothing to do with that. It was Joe all by himself. If you watched the pod at that time, Joe made the mistake of thinking he was on the level of Joe Rogan and Joe Rogan got that 150 million dollar deal. Joe got happy like he was gonna get that in the re-signing. Because he didn't, he started trashing Spotify and even tried to make up narratives like they were lying on numbers. Joe isn't nowhere near number 1 in ALL podcasts. They have a Chart. Joe has never had the number 1 spot. Or Top 10, 20 or 30. In Hip-Hop spaces he is number 3. He did shitty business there overhyping himself. Its his fault. All CTG did was call it out....and the call out was after they didnt re-sign. He just said that was bad business

All truths! I have been noticing this for years. Joe never has any amicable splits. Everyone who has dealt with him seems to end up disliking him. But he seems to always point the finger. 30 different people can't be wrong about you.

He saw Joe Rogans deal and at the time Joe Budden was the #1 podcast at Spotify so he turned down the 20 mil. He even explained how after Joe Rogan and Bill Simmons got there deals Joe Budden got called by Simmons while JBP took a break during pandemic and said I can show you how to podcast remotely and Joe Budden was offended. I believe if he created a true network after the Spotify deal was turned down including the two female shows “See, The Thing Is,” I can’t remember the name of the other one Flip with his own show, Melissa with another female if she can hold her own but probably not lol, The Pull Up, and just hold distribution and production credits for like 5 shows and build from there.

I like your assessment. Charla didn't mess up the Spotify deal but it was foul for him to speak about a "so called friend" on air in that manner. They're in two different worlds. Charla is influential; someone I could see on the cover of Time magazine one day. Joe's not on his level but his pod is cool.

I really don't think Charlamagne was trying to sabotage Joe's deal, there must've been something else BTS. Joe's 1st Spotify contract ended at the same time Spotify got Joe Rogan, rendering Joe Budden pretty much unneeded at the time.
